Yeah, it really makes you jump to buy it when you’re assured what a great value, unbeatable, high quality, fantastic deal spare door handle you’re getting. :rolls:
Be nice to know what models it fits but they took that away. 😡

    Re: INDESIT DI620

Had precisely same fault today. In UKW fault code book 2+4 = “heater”.
On the one I looked at (very briefly) the element was getting hot but not much water was coming in. I had the impression that the circulation pump wasn’t kicking in. I’d be looking at that if I had been asked to. Also I’d have a look at board.
Unfortunately I was only there to fix the washing machine and the customer had next to no money and merely wanted a quick idea of possible cost of a fix for dw. I told her it would need a bit of investigating and was likely to cost quite a bit. She said she’d carry on doing them by hand for the time being. Maybe when the recession’s over I’ll get called again. :rolls:

Neutral fed machine means that it’s components are fed directly back to neutral and therefore only switched on the live side. (IIRC?)

Can’t say I’ve heard the expression but I have heard of machines “switched in neutral” meaning the opposite of having all the switches on the live side, which I think is the usual way of doing things; although these days who knows?

I’d look for condensation around the motor brush holders. If not that then could be a relay on the board not operating.

What about Hotpoint’s £99 deal? Does it not apply? Has it expired?

No they still honour their guarantees and those customers with machines under 5 years old I advise them to go to Hotpoint.
Have you forgotten about this Advice to Hotpoint customers

in reply to: ASKO Washing Machine Motor #288511

    Re: ASKO Washing Machine Motor

I strongly suspect it is the same motor as for a model W600. If you try both models in this site
    http://www.expertappliance.com/WasherPa … epair.html
it comes up with a part which is priced exactly the same and with effectively same part no. (not OEM part no. but genuine part they say).
Going to Connect (requires login) the part for W600 is an FHP label UOZ112G55.
    Hope that helps.
By the way, I’ve got an FHP UOZ112G55 which came from a Hotpoint but the pulley looks different. Maybe the label refers only to the field coil?

I feel a bit silly suggesting this but you didn’t say, so what about wall socket, plug, mains cable and interlock?

One tip.. the drum can be a pain to get suspended on the springs again if youre working alone like me 😥 so i use an old snapped 3 rib dryer belt through the spring holes, & do the one on the timer side first as the soap drawer really gets in the way.

I use same procedure, Madmac, but I lay the machine on it’s back before releasing suspa pins and springs, then lift cabinet carefully away. Reverse procedure for re-assembly.

Yeah, I’ve had same problem for last five or ten years, even with irons and tips labelled Antex. (Could they be fake?) I wasn’t sure whether I was doing something wrong. Or could it be in the nature/ quality of the solder? Lead free seems to take longer to melt but even lead solder doesn’t perform like it used to. Soldering has definitely become a more difficult job for some reason. I had thought it might be my age.
Even cleaning the tip before use with emery paper doesn’t help much. It’s all corroded again next time I use it. Or 💡 is it the air here in Cornwall?
