    Re: Bosch Module Blown

Could be caused by water leaking onto motor. Might have dried out in the meantime and not left much trace. Another possible is wiring loom getting abraded by rough edge of concrete for example. And then there’s carbon build up in and around motor from brushes as they wear. Megger would probably show it up.

Hi Andy. I have a couple of modular plugs of the type that fit thermistors and such like which I have cut out of old looms and attached terminals to the leads from them so I can get my meter on these components. Also useful for attaching to module edges.

I have done a bit more research and find that the 6501KW2001A is reputed by more than one source to fit this model. Whether you need the whole stator or not, I don’t know. The sensor is in stock at Connect @ £16.94 to me, though could be different price for others :rolls: .

Thanks Andy, 💡 I’ll see what I can find in the sewing box.

Caution regarding last post 6501KW2002A also exists (no pic on Connect 🙁 ) No info about model no’s.

Not certain that it fits your model but 6501KW2001A comes up with a nice clear picture on Connect.

    Re: Thermometer.

I bought a cheap Chinese one on e-bay for under a tenner incl. delivery. It works but I’m not certain of its accuracy since it disagrees with my thermocouple on my cheap meter by 2 degrees, although the disagreement is consistent. Never yet used it at work but it’s useful to point out the window and find out how cold it is outside. 😆

Sounds like a strange fault. My money’s on it being something like a wire shorting to the casing or possibly inside the mains cable around the clamp/strain relief point.

Also, if the triac is blown, it might be better to replace the valve anyway, in case that’s what blew it. I’ve got away with using a cheap Hotpoint double valve a few times by remaking connections and drilling a new fixing hole or two for the screw(s).

Andy, ‘scuse my ignorance but how do you attach your meter leads to those wires/connectors whilst leaving them in circuit? You must have a connection system I don’t have? What do I need and where can I get/how do I make one?

    Re: BOSCH WFL2260UK/04

That sounds like a surface mounted triac. Rather fiddly soldering job if you’ve got to do that.
💡 Maybe EMW would have a dekko at it for you if you gave them a ring. I’m sure they did a Bosch board for me about 3 years ago.
I’ve not had many problems with Bosch washing machine boards but several water valve problems. I’d swap the coil just to make sure. Even the ones with the mini pcb can be unplugged from that IIRC.

    Hi Garn,
When I was at school there was one teacher who told us one day that although our class was at the top, it didn’t mean we were in any way superior to any of the kids in the B’s and C’s and D’s etc. He told us that everybody had something they were good at and every human being deserved respect. I already knew that instinctively (or maybe from sunday school?) but his words have always been there in the back of my mind. One of the only useful things I learned at school.

If I log in from the home page I don’t have to do the numbers check. I’ve often wondered why that was. Maybe that’s a factor?
