Could have a look inside old interlock. If it looks burnt inside, it might have taken the pcb with it.

That could be very significant. If you can get at it see if the motor is damp and try a sqirt of WD40 on the brush holders if so.

What have you tried, so far? Don’t let a fault code put you off looking under the lid!

If that cures it keep the old one and stick a new reed switch in it. Penguin posted something about this a few weeks ago and gave the Maplin part no. for the reed switch.

Re: Running a wm motor out of the machine

Just to clarify. I only do this at home. But I would do it on the customer’s premises if the need arose (in the back yard, taking necessary precautions ) after consulting with them and explaining my reasons, .
It’s especially useful when you’ve got a Bosch motor which has suffered commutator damage due to the long brush tails and you want to check your clean up job has been successful before re-installing the motor.

Re: Belling IDW603 door string guide (white plastic half rou

    Thanks Lawrence.
Actually, after a PNE to Connect suggested I look at “latch guide plate” I re-tried the search on there for IDW603 and the part I need came up third on the list! (It wasn’t there before I swear it!). It’s description reads, “hinge cord” 😕 but the pic is of the part I’m looking for. So, for future reference, the Connectons part no. is 5045171514111.

Click where it says “e-shop”. Opens in new window. Enter model no. in “appliance search” window down a bit on rhs.

Re: Running a wm motor out of the machine

Have done it a few times with Hpt, Hvr, Bsh, Zn, Ind. etc. Never any problem. Live in through one brush, (via t.o.c.). Link wire from other brush to one field terminal. Neutral out from other field terminal. Earth to tag or casing. Plug in via RCD type socket for preference. Foot on motor (leave boot on 😆 ), switch on and immediately off again for quick burst test. If OK, try longer burst and check for clean running.

in reply to: proline ceramic hob, cannot find this model, need a part No. #278304

Re: proline ceramic hob, cannot find this model, need a part

If you know the diameter, you can usually get away with a universal fitting one. Electrue do a few on Connect. Just type “halogen hotplate” in the search box.
