    Re: Long Memories

If insurance companies collapse how will it affect the price of insurance / extended warranties? If those prices rise, won’t that cause more people to risk not taking it out? That would mean more work paid for directly by the customer.

Can only suggest squeezing lugs closed with appropriate socket and finding suitable sharp, angled levers (seriously bent screwdrivers?) to get beween motor frame and plastic tub. Sounds like they don’t leave you much room.

Do they have screws that go into expanding plastic lugs (like on Zanussi tub weight)? Had a Beko like that the other day. Struggled for a bit before realising that all four lugs had screws in, not just the ones at the front.

in reply to: Zanussi ZCE7700X fan oven cutting out. #261685

Re: Zanussi ZCE7700X fan oven cutting out.

Went to this one today. Put a thermocouple in oven and ran it up. Turned out stat is out of calibration by about 30 degrees, so when the dial is set to 240 it goes up to about 270 before the light goes out. The TOC (red spot, just where Micky said it was) didn’t cut out for me, though I had the back off and away from the wall. Am going to order new stat. Didn’t find the tampon so maybe not this model, unless it’s under the hob.
    Thanks again guys.

If it’s the harness side they’ve been pulled out of, you could buy a new motor harness from Bosch for £8 odd. p/n 182166 or 423961.

    Re: HOMARK 05-700105

Ask customer if the problem has only occurred recently or has always been there. Sometimes they forget to mention that and you do your head in for nothing. Does seem overly long, doesn’t it? I wonder if they’re linked up in series, leading to shared voltage across them? Could check that. Alternatively, why not get the element and tell him it’s his loss if it don’t cure it since he’s “convinced it’s the element”.

Might be something to do with dispenser solenoid. They’re reputed to cause all sorts of faults. Try pulling off the wires and connecting them to a spare water valve coil.

Re: Hotpoint BFI62 Integ Dishwasher – Help! Dead Button.

“P button”sounds to me like something with a tactile switch behind it. They are flimsy. I’ve got some I bought from RS. They’re so cheap you have to buy 10 to make a £2 order. Bit of a fiddly soldering job.
PM me if you’d like me to post out a couple.

I use a Bosch IXO 3.6v (350 grammes) most of the time and a 7.2v PSR200LI (450g) for tougher jobs. Cheapest from e-bay. Haven’t tried the angled bit. Must look into that. .

Have had a look on http://www.bshappliancecare.com/bshspares.html but it just shows a goalpost type seal. There are one or two Bosch specialists on here. One’s called Beever – look up his profile, and maybe pm him – he offers help.
