Re: Bosch dishwasher impellor sealing kit o ring difficulty.

The nitrile cord kit worked well enough even though the old one turned out to be 5mm and a softer rubber. I fitted one made up using the 4mm cord plus a bit of silicone and it’s apparently still going strong all of a week later!

Yeah, you were spot on, Martin. Found still more screws missing when I looked further and the whole cabinet was totally distorted. Funny thing is the drum wasn’t rubbing on the back panel!
Anyway, it’s all back shipshape now complete with new p o k e r, er I mean “microswitch piece.”

    Thanks for fast reply.
Yeah that makes more sense, really. I was thinking it was just that they had never been there in the first place. I’ll take a selection with me.

Re: any idea how old this is

Had one of these myself in the eighties, bought from a car boot sale. Served me well for a few years, then I probably sold it on when I moved.
Takes any thickness of slice and you know when it’s ready by the burning smell! (No worse than the grill on a cooker).

    Yep, new board fixed it.
(Also tried repairing old board by replacing 24v relay which had rather burnt cotacts but it still didn’t work when a new relay was fitted.)

Got exactly same problem. Was it the board, machineman?

    Re: EMW, 6 MONTHS,NOW NOT 12?

I noticed it too. Seems to me that Merloni boards are too much of a PITA. Half the time you end up spending a lot of time on diagnosis to make sure it is the board or to find what has caused the burn-up. Then you find you still have some other problem to solve after the board is fitted. I’m going to quote higher on these jobs from now on and if the customer says no, I’ll be happy.

Re: Bosch dishwasher impellor sealing kit o ring difficulty.

Thanks for the advice. I’m sure the one I fitted on first visit was new and it must have broken during fitting. I’m pretty sure it was also oversized. Wouldn’t surprise me if they sometimes make the kit up wrong as there are more than one variants.

And pressure switch. You can remove it easily enough and lever it open with a screwdriver (watch you don’t stab yourself!). Look inside for burning of contacts. Possible to re-assemble and re-use if pristine; otherwise change it. This way you know if it’s faulty – gives you confidence in the repair. (Speaking from experience with recent F eight).

I’d guess it was her landlord paying for the job and she had no interest in trying to woo you. 😯
Does beg the question, is everyone that gives you (or me) a cup of tea getting a fiver off*?
BTW Are you sure that the one she made for her shelf wasn’t actually for you?

Re: Neff S4730BOGB/07 slimline d/w motor.

Had a Bosch slimline which did same thing. It had a partly burnt red plastic thing on top of the motor, can’t remember if it was a relay or a toc or what. Replaced it – no difference. Then had a look at pcb and found burnt relay contact – aha!- soldered it – no difference. After a bit more time than it was worth I gave that one up. Sorry not to be more positive!

If it’s in a garage or shed, check brush holders for condensation.

    Re: ASKO 9503 DRAINPUMP

I had to do one of these about 5 years ago (might have been diff model, it was about 15 years old then). Found some other pump motor, pretty sure it was a cheap Philips, and fitted it to the old filter with instant gasket and some wire wrapped round tightly to hold it on. In those days I had no access to Connect etc..
AFIK it’s still working. (Been recommended to several other customers by that one).
