Have on occasion found a wire broken inside motor plug/ socket sometimes intermittent. Otherwise it would have to be timer (EMW for recon?) or wiring.

Assuming it’s a permanent magnet plaset/askoll/hanninig whatever. You’ve tried stopping impellor by applying pressure to the top of it? Not unknown for impellor to rotate fine until a little pressure applied. Sometimes they just break off completely.

Thanks folks. I haven’t heard back from customer so it might have been a one off unbalanced load.

This model has a rotary switch with lots of terminals on it 5045170618919 @connect. Could be that.

Thanks Andy. I’ve printed this out ‘cos I reckon I’ll need it tomorrow.
Don’t know why it’s lying lost in the mists of time and hasn’t been moved to the error codes thread.

You were spot on as usual, Chris.
Thanks again, another machine dodges the scrap heap and I get paid!

I would have thought ACL = “alternating current live” and so on.
Does the pink wire go to the heating element or stat by any chance?

ParticipantRe: candy draining fault
Don’t know this model but have had this fault on machines which have pump wired in series with water valve to prevent floods.
On the rare occasions that the solenoid coil goes SHORT circuit the pump will run continuously on any programme.

Oh well. Customer didn’t like the idea of two more visits, uncertain time taken and possible BER anyway, so called it a day.
Too bad. Don’t care about lost job as have enough work at mo but that machine must have cost a fortune to start with and was a lovely bit of engineering and still clean as a whistle. Still I suppose you can pick up something that looks just as good now for a lot less dough.:|January 9, 2008 at 11:46 am in reply to: Bosch WFT2800GB/13 stops after few mins and sits there… #239002leavemetogetonwithit

Martin, I think you might have it there. I think it was one direction only. I better go back and take some spare relays with me. I did look at that power module but there were no blown tracks on it. It just shows that merloni weren’t the first to invent difficult to pull out power modules!
Any idea what relays are used? IIRC they were reddish brown.

Got one of these doing something similar. Starts wash OK but pumps out after two or three mins and programme sequence lights advance to programme ended stage.
Checked htr ele OK, dispenser solenoid 1.15kohm, thermistor 14kohm @ 20C and drops fast when held on teacup.
Not checked board yet.
Strange thing. Metered terminals on rinse-aid thing measured 2 to 8 ohms fluctuating. What’s that all about?
