Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Customer rings Friday, 4pm. Servis 2 y.old. Not turning drum. Wants an idea if worth fixing. I say, “definitely worth a look, can be pretty sure to fix that easily enough.Be round your way on Monday anyway.” (Thinks: “don’t forget soldering iron for burnt relay connection”). Appointment made for Monday 1pm.
9.15am. Monday. Customer rings. “We no longer need you, we went out and bought a new one over the weekend.”
    Grrrrrrr! 😡

When you select a wash are you getting 240v across a water valve? If not, maybe you’ve got a pressure switch problem. Or it could be that a connector on the timer got damaged and is not making good contact.
By the way I don’t know what machine this is as I don’t have access to info except from spares catalogues. Is it one where you have to push a start button?

If the door “is locked” it shouldn’t make any difference but have you tried bridging the door switch live to common?

One other effect of the WEEE directive may be access to secondhand spares for all interested at many various fly-tipping sites along your local roads.

Re: Hoover A3954 on off switch

Maybe Simon could use bits from my switch to repair his? Otherwise looks like this could be a job for the Blu-Tak. 😉

Don’t know if this helps but I have a s/h seven (7) switch bank in my hand labelled “Logic 1300”. ???
It has pcb type edge except for one end which has 2 spade connectors.
Would be so happy to see the back of it wouldn’t even charge for postage.

    Re: hotpoint tc71p

Is it the ‘stat or the thermal overload cut-out (coloured spot) that has gone open circuit? If the latter, check the business side of it. If concave not convex, dh might have accidentally pushed it in during handling. Easily done.

    Power off etc.

    Repairs@ if stuck.

in reply to: Bosch stuck with pump running #166649

Re: Bosch stuck with pump running

It may be that the flood protection device in the base has been triggered by an overflow or leakage situation. Pull out the plug, pull the machine out and very carefully tip it backwards slowly till it is resting on its back. During this process water may flow out of the base at the back. If it does this is an indication that the flood prevention device had been triggered.
Right the machine and after making sure the plug and cable etc are thoroughly dry, try it again.
The F.P. device may have been triggered by use of a tablet which did not dissolve properly leading to foaming/overflow.
The above advice is offered with the understanding that no liability for damage attaches to me or to ukwhitegoods for offering it.
If there is still a problem, try the Repairs@ link.

I’ve been considering implementing this policy with the later Indesit/Ariston ranges. Even AFTER I’ve fixed them. :rotfl:

Re: Beko washer bayonet fitting pump

Don’t know whether it’s same bayonet but useful stock anyway is “pump trade” (Coprecci) HPT 160015977 Masterpart £4.79 , possibly less even at Seme. Has Hotpoint chamber included.

Take it you gave customer strict instructions not to leave it unattended!

High water pressure > spill over from neighbouring soap drawer compartment?? Solution = turn tap off a bit.
