Not sure if this applies here but a couple of times I had Servis machines doing strange things because one inlet valve had gone SHORT circuit ❗
As it was inline with the pump (as a flood prevention mechanism) this led to constant pump out at any fill position. If both valves were energised this could lead to simultaneous fill + pump out.

Connect’s price was £37 compared w Mpt’s £35 so as I wanted other stuff from Mpt anyway, I went with that. Could have got 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off via distriparts agent presumably but customer in a hurry.
Think I’m spending 3x as long looking for parts since I got three/four suppliers to check out. Tempted to go back to my old ways of sticking to one supplier and accepting the gains and losses. Not sure if it would make much difference getting broadband as although the page would change quicker, I’d still have to read it all.
Is it just me or is this whole job getting increasingly complicated as more and more makes and models appear on the market? What we need is a partfinding/pricing/availability co-ordination agency (an office full of Dave Conways) to do this work for us. 🙂

13mins Dave.
Dunno why I bother trawling around trying to find things for myself.(Too embarrassed to tell you how much time I’ve spent trawling just for this one).
Maybe we should all just post our parts requirements to you and pay you to do it for us 💡 ❓
Many thanks.

Thanks for the help.
The dial was indeed sticky and I think this caused original fault.
Discovered this while fitting (EMW refurbished) timer. But cleaned and oiled dial before testing and switched to spin and waited and waited …and could feel clicking through timer knob as machine carried on seemingly endless spin at 1000 revs..
Am wondering if refurbished timer works in “laboratory/test rig” environment but not when installed. 💡 Maybe even that cam thing is catching somewhere.
Guess there’s only one way to find out, but it’ll have to wait till next week.
Will also check bracket alignment.

Got replacement timer from EMW and fitted it.
Still no joy. Replacement timer also fails to advance to off after spin. ❗ It also makes the clicking noise though it is not as loud.
Rang EMW and they suggested a possible heater/thermostat problem. Heater checks out OK (23 ohm insulation fine). Thermostat has three terminals (two temp?) and appears OK (assuming it is two n/c switches).
Am baffled. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help.

ParticipantRe: The Weee Directive
Basically we’ve all been paying for years through our council tax to have all the old junk recycled/disposed of. When WEEE kicks in we’ll pay that in the price of a new machine. Therefore cost of a new machine should rise a bit meaning more repair work.
Have I got this right ❓

Bodmin must be about 60 miles from here. Bit too far for my bike. Anyway I have the good fortune of local, 10mile radius customers, just enough to keep the wolf from the door and not need “work providers”.

Thought you said you’d changed the timer.

I seem to remember the new board for a wm1080 cost me less than £25 from Seme bit over a year ago.

Could be worth going to Electrolux site and e-mailing the pics to their technical dept.
Isn’t the model on a sticker on the top of the oven?

Could be worth sending timer to emw for testing/repair.
Or they may have one in stock which you can try in for handling charge only (£4.70) if it turns out to be mis-diagnosis.

ParticipantRe: Carbon Footprint
It has been calculated that each year we use up fossil fuels which would take 400 years worth of plant growth (total planet’s) to restore.
George Monbiot wrote this in an article in Tuesday’s Guardian.
Seems to me it’s all gonna come crashing down soon.
On a lighter note there’s more carbon on my handprint after a 95 brush job.

Presumably you have managed to seperate business mileage from private car use.
I get 3 tonnes but I live on my own. This calculator asks for no. of people in household but then gives a figure for the whole household 😕
