    Re: Bosch dishwasher free call?????

So does anybody know how many machines have actually caught fire and caused damage to the kitchen or worse? Or is it just more OTT elf n safety?
And another thought. What modifications have they made to the new modules which will be fitted?

I thought it was the spider. You just sharpen it and use it like a spike into the lawn πŸ˜† .

I think that’s all it is, really. I mean if you added up all the machines that get sold these days and divided them by the number that end up like this I’m sure the ratio would be very small. All this stuff probably happened nearly as much in the old days but with no internet we didn’t get to hear about it.

I await the ton of bricks πŸ˜† .

Edit: What really is a shame is that inner drum won’t be much use as a BBQ fire pit now πŸ™ . Although, then again, maybe with a bit of folding of edges it could be quite unique!

Have only a faint clue of what this and your other reference to fairies in pockets are about but I suppose that just reflects on my lack of culture 😳 .
Anyway, you’ll be pleased to know that I’ve got a second hand board on the line now (Β£10 + post) and am just reeling it in. Negotiating skills is something else that I’m learning from this πŸ˜‰ .
Mark, yes, business is about making money but if you can find enjoyment in your work, it helps it feel less like work and enables you to carry on with it longer. (Maybe even 65+ πŸ™ )

Boards do odd stuff on these but at least they’re usually not too dear. But would first check tacho and its magnet. Could even be a kaput armature.

Certainly an odd one. Probably board but could it be pressure switch?

Probably trying to spin whilst full of water. Has customer checked filter? If you need the work, get there quick before they do!

Great. It should be on its way to me soon. Better ring customer and give her the news. She was expecting to have to have a new motor at Β£100.

Bl**y Nora, I didn’t think of looking at his completeds!
Keep off the 1200 hpt motor, please. That’s mine, unless you’re gonna pay over Β£10.50.

Incidentally, have you checked continuity of loom from board to thermistor? IIRC, ntc would be approx 25Kohm @ 20*C.

You’re both right. My time will be largely unpaid. But it’s a lot more fun than running round all day emptying filters, and the learning experience is hopefully going to come in handy in the long term. I have got too much time, and I think this is not too bad a way to spend it.
Meanwhile my feelers are busily out seeking a cheap s/h board and I think I’ve got a bite!

Re: Hpt dw DWF 30P/7 (Bosch) pcb repair. Detail required.

I thought of giving them a ring to ask if they could have a look at the chip on one of their near-same modules that they keep in stock. They don’t list this one as stock and my gut feeling is they would call it BER on sight! Maybe I’ll ring them Monday and e-mail the pics if they sound friendly. Not used their service for years.
Having cut the chip out I can now see a bit better what’s going on underneath it. Looks a bit scary really. Beginning to think of throwing in the towel 😳 . Gonna have to file down my soldering iron tip a bit if I go ahead πŸ˜† .

Think I’ll put a snipe on it then. Probably come in useful one day, whether or not I get to use it on this job.

Re: Hpt dw DWF 30P/7 (Bosch) pcb repair. Detail required.

    Thankyou for checking that Dave.
I had thought even quite different boards would use same components. Had a look last night and could only see two of the chip’s legs being used ( πŸ˜• ) but will check again later. Might as well cut the chip out anyway, make it easier to see. From looking at pics of DWF30 from a Google images search I think that button is something like “pre-rinse” which is why I’m wondering whether the thing would work at least partially anyway. Will also check for water signs.
