    Re: Hotpoint WF860..F07 or not???

Heater relays are certainly under a lot of stress these days and it wouldn’t be surprising for it to start by going intermittent. The ones used are rated at 10 amps so are right at the limit of their spec. if not a bit beyond!
Having said that I tried changing them for F08 fault on a AWD12 once and it didn’t make any difference even though the contacts were pretty blackened.

Could be a capacitor on board. Have you read, “Simple pcb repairs” sticky?

Is it higher fill level on 30 deg washes?

Have another good read of simple pcb repairs sticky. I have a suspicion this sounds like a capacitor problem.

That is certainly a big arrow pointing at board. EMW?

Ransom spares list it as MCA61CY.

That’s just the first one. In a second one I revealed the part number for the relay and all. Hopefully none of them read it.

Strange. Two of them look like the picture on Connect to me.
Neff e-shop lists it at £60.08. Have you tried them? I daresay you could get trade discount if they do actually have it.

Might be something like it here?

You could take a nice clear picture or two and post them up. It’s easily done now. You upload it to a free image hosting site, then use the “Img” button at the top of the reply box to give you the html tags and copy and paste the link between them. Even I can do it. It’ll still be a longshot; just a little shorter odds.

Now that posting pics is so easy I’m having a whale of a time! 😀
This is what the inside of the relay looked like:

Yes, it must have gone with quite a pop. Here’s how it looked before my repair:

    and after:

Here’s what’s on the other side of the interface board (which is a bit worrying!):

One digit on the number in the centre of that big chip is discoloured. I just hope that isn’t an omen. Other than that there’s no other sign of further damage.
    Thanks for the pointers.
Is it possible this was two faults unrelated to each other? I’m wondering if the thing would still work, just not on all programmes? Not sure which tactile switch does what.

It should be triggering the drain pump to cut in. Not sure whether pressure switches controls this or if it’s just timed. Have you got service manual? It’s on mediator.

The relays can be easily checked with a 12v door bell battery to operate the coil. (I think it’s polarised so try it both ways.) This is only a vague indication though, as even if you get good continuity through the contacts they can still be causing problems. Only way to be (80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}) sure is to cut the top of the relay off with a Stanley knife and look at the contacts. You’ll have to change it then anyway so do it after you’ve removed it as confirmation of diagnosis.
QER advertise their module repair service on ebay. It’s annoying because when you’re looking for a s/h module you have to trawl past scores of their listings to get to a real bargain.

    Re: ZANUSSI ZJD1219 DRAIN PROBLEMS

Presuming you’re getting E10. Advanced search for “E10” in TT Enqs brings up these 126 results,

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=E10&fid%5B%5D=3

most of which look approximately relevant.
Think a trawl through them might help. My gut feeling is there’s something not quite right about that valve coil. You said the old one was brown. All the ones I’ve seen have been green.
And another area to look at would be pressure switches as it sounds like it might not be sensing water level increase and switching pump on at the right time. (Don’t ask me why it works on wash though.)
