Makes Clive Brammel (sp?) look quite saintly. Was that a model where you could have changed the motor end bearing?

What caused the original board to die?

Just found this whilst looking for something else.
Don’t know how reliable the information is. Part is a secondhand one by the way.

If it’s the bearing, there’ll be no way of knowing till you get it out. Had same on an old Servis once. That was an old git standing over me too.

Probably best to tell them to wait and call you again when/if it gets worse. ( I bet they’re not youngsters with three kids.) You probably won’t have more than a couple of months to wait. Or it could disappear as mysteriously as it arose. Just one more thought. Have seen bearing housing come loose in tub shell in an old model.

Maybe the descaler you gave them loosened up a lot of scales and they built up in the drainage. Not familiar with model but some of the old ones used the main circulation motor in reverse to effect drainage. Trouble was the reverse impellor blades tended to get stripped off. Quite easy to access motors on them though.

What is the frequency of the knocking in beats per drum revolution :?:. Could even be a bearing. Is it a welded tub :rolls: ?

Maybe you need to get one of these to go with your new gloves.

I see what you mean. Is the steel tub version a different forward slash number?
My gut feeling would be that the chambers must be shaped differently, so it might work but if it does it would probably not be as efficient. Masterpart have it £28.46.

TBH there wasn’t much you needed to know on them except the brushes and how to manouvre the backplate+drum out through the back panel opening! Come to think of it, maybe that’s what the picture shows. He’s found a way to do the bearings without taking the drum out 😆 .

Mike.maybe the pic was taken 12 years ago???
Could be. And they didn’t get round to printing it out till 2006 according to the date on it. 😉

Just read the first 25 comments and have had the best laugh I’ve had in a long time.
For example,
“I actually found black mould in our dishwasher. It was only at the bottom inside edge, below the door level. I cleaned it with mild solution of bleach. Since then, after each cycle, we dry around the door and hidden points and wipe with alcohol.” :rotfl:Heaven help those poor sods who do their washing up by hand 😯 !
