It’s not as if you’re going to put all the lid and panels back on every time you want to find out if a change you’ve made has had any effect. :rolls: But that’s surely what you’d have to do if H&S had their way.

Not seen one of these but wouldn’t poking a bit of strimmer line down the tube with a repeated back and forth motion clear it well enough? Followed by a couple of service washes to make sure.

I just thought it would be good to have a list of such “odd mods”, especially safety critical ones, somewhere here we could all consult them, such as a sticky in TTE’s

Is there a sticky somewhere where crucial safety notices like this one are held? If not, it would be handy to have one. Who, in this multi-brand world, has got time to keep up with these warnings? First time I had seen that one.

Only time I used WD40 for that purpose, on a Hpt WM series, it worked for one or two washes and then reverted to low insulation. Is there a way to do it reliably, as it would save a lot of work dismantling motor to clean properly?

Are there any trays or dishes obstructing vents in the fan cover?

Did it move at all with the load in?
Your test seems to suggest that the motor isn’t providing enough torque but that would be a rather unusual fault. Much more likely to be just an intermittent no motor action (tug around motor plug area, try pulling p/sw tube off) if it is a not moving at all fault.

In the old days, before they invented health and safety, we used to attach a piece of string…. :innocent:

IME, they take your card details but don’t take payment till it’s ready to dispatch (even if that’s months). You can then cancel when you’re fed up waiting.

ParticipantRe: Bosch SRS45E38GB/01 Dishwasher
Tank off. Instructions are available here somewhere in one of Martin’s best efforts. (Suggest search for Bosch + heater + dishwasher and specify author Martin, tick display results as posts.) Should be just a sealing kit unless shaft / bearing have got damaged. Watch out it’s not a leaking hose from mtr to htr which is only available as complete htr …. probably.

Usual checks first. Condensation on brush holders or low insulation somewhere. Tech stuff should be available from Connect mediator.

First place I check is IDC connection to tacho at motor end. Especially if it’s lost the cable tie which should hold it all firmly in place.
