There’s usually a second hand one up for grabs on e-bay due to unreliability of drums.
I did a quick search and came up with this. Don’t know if would fit and pulley looks rusty. (Check water didn’t get into pulley end bearing before buying.)

repair that one according to their site.
What could be wrong with it that you couldn’t fix yourself? Chip down? Timers on them were prone to go.

Always get terrific fast service and fair prices for many items from this seller through e-bay. Very useful for one-offs when you don’t have enough to be worth an order to your wholesaler. They are in Somerset, so works well for service to Cornwall, can’t speak for other areas.

Sent Timer to EMW – Came back as no fault found.

How much do they charge for a NFF? I never send anything unless they don’t have what I want in stock. They have my card details on file, I ring them up, they send a replacement which arrives next day. When all’s well I send exchange back. If fault isn’t cured, their part goes back. If it is a “funny” timer fault, you’d have been spared some of the aggravation doing it that way. (Although someone else might have ended up with a dodgy timer down the line.)

Why not get a bread maker and a ton of flour and save energy on refrigeration? Or just leave the loaves outside in the back garden. 😆

Think emw do the timers. So you could try one and send it back if no go.

Yes, it would seem an ideal opportunity to make some money on ebay but I see somebody is already flogging them at £19.99 from Brighton so only about a tenner to be made on each sale after expenses if you undercut him by a quid. Could set up my own spares website perhaps and try competing with espares (£84.49).

2 Offered at 5.99 Per Unit
3 Offered at 5.49 Per Unit

    I would go for two 😉 .

Anyway, I am very grateful to you guys here for sharing the info and to UKW for providing the platform. I would really have been flummoxed without the info, especially as machine was built into tight corner requiring disconnect and drag out to work on.
My post above states that farnell does free delivery. This is no longer true unless you have a £20 order. RS however are still doing free delivery. It may be necessary to open an account but this is very simple and they never hassle you to buy more! (I’ve spent only about £50 in five years and never had more than one phone call in all that time.)
Reed switch I used is RS p/no. 229-3692. 52p. Delivery by parcelforce next day included in price even if you just buy one.

Thanks for the 8uF tip. I know this is probably easy money but it means I have to order two elements 😉 and probably hold the second one, if not both, in stock for a year.
