ParticipantRe: Zanussi E20
I did mis-read it as a washer dryer in my error but maybe my memory is fading as I was sure not so long ago on a washer dryer I had the error E20 and the thermistor had gone – probably just me – sorry 🙁

ParticipantRe: Zanussi E20

ParticipantRe: indesit just keeps on running.
Had this fault in the past and it turned out to be the heater, rang indesit and was told that it goes through the heater during spin for some reason but anyway it solved the problem. Must admit at the time thought indesit had lost there mind but give it a go. 😀

Have you tried the self test to see if any fault is showing up ❓ ❓

ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WASHER WF541
Fault list is pcb / ntc short. Check heater should be around 28-30 resist. If you get that reading try changing ntc first which is cheaper opition to pcb. 🙂

ParticipantRe: Neff integ dish no spray.
As gegsy said it is a heater chamber that needs changing as divertor valve is located inside there and it is a pig of a job.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF340G
Generally hotpoint are now asking for product code and also if machines are 3 phase or not and then the colour of the sticker on the motor due to being a 50 or 60 segment motor, not as easy as it was a one time. It normally is cheaper for customer to ring hotpoint and get it fixed for a set fee. Good luck 🙂

Yes you remove eprom once fitted and it should work have check with a hotpoint engineer. 🙂

ParticipantRe: REDUNDANCIES AT COMET
Comet engineers work very hard, have very long days and generally go out of there way to help customers. Some days yes we are very pushed for time and do not always have the spares or the correct information to fix it first time.
Unlike independants the information is collected via a call centre and not always correct or we have been misinformed by the customer what the fault is.
Yes like any trades there are good and bad engineers but there are also alot of one man bands that go out and do give us all a bad name.
When I worked for myself I have followed alot of these guys around who have either ripped the customer off or just refused to return and sort there mess out.
Customers sometimes want the earth and when you cannot deliver it just moan for the hell of it. I myself do get very angry and annoyed when you are the 3rd,4th or even 5th engineer to visit and it still has not been fixed. But that is not always the engineers fault, customers do not always listen to advice about not using the appliance until you return and make the problem worst. I know this is not always the case.
The companies who make and supply the appliances do not always make ordering of parts easy either, what with some having 3 pcb’s, 4 eproms, 2 or 3 motors etc etc etc.
As for extended warranties if you look at how much they cost and what they cover, they do offer value for money and the number of tubs, pcb/eproms and pumps/filters we unblock and that we replace due to poor reliability of spares these days at no extra cost to the customers. Not many of us charge even when it is the customers fault, time and time again or we just go to explain how to use the machine.
You can if you want spend your time blaming or moaning about us or stop and think, that I bet alot of your answers for fault codes, weird / wonderful faults that are only known to own in house engineers have come from comet engineers.
Yes as you might have guess I AM A COMET ENGINEER and enjoy working for comet. I agree not everything at comet is wonderful and smells of roses but some of us are working to improve things everyday for both the public and other people within the trade.
Now I guess I have opened up myself for people to have ago but first stop and think we all have a living to earn and some of us are better than others at it but why not make more helpful comments and start spreading good working practices – lead by example. 😀 😀

ParticipantRe: Bosch Slim Dishwasher
General if the valve has a anti-flood built into it you can remove valve and give it a shake over the sink which will remove the water that gets stuck in anti flood bellows part and will generally start working again. If happens again replace then. Hope this helps

ParticipantRe: hoover
Sorry not sure who Ken is. I am only going on what beko emailed to our company sorry cannot show email as on main server. Problem stops as soon as board changed, you no longer get a problem on spin. Thanks for the invite but as you are testing all boards I will take the information on board for the future. Thanks.

ParticipantRe: zanussi washer fs1155 door lock problem
Bit late but on some zanussi machines with the jet system the regen pump will blow the pcb when it fails. so you will need to change both.
