have you tried a different socket?
also elements can go to earth at a certain temperature, if its only happening on high heat this would give the element the chance to get to the temperature that it fails at IF it is that at fault.

the different socket comments comes from a time it happened to me were i found the live side of the socket had burnt through and was killing the machine on a high load.
caused by a cheap socket or a loose connection maybe.
worth a look for the sake of a screw or two at most.

    LOL.
    Please lock the topic admin.
I was basically just pointing out how shocked i was at trade suppliers v’s direct manufacturers.

Alternatively lets change the subject and supply your dealers/suppliers details for the best prices youve found?

Mite drum up a bit more trade for the sensibly priced suppliers out there.

Re: New way to replace Bosch brushes.

I was actually joking , im in the north east, i was gesting as iadom gets so many brush jobs, i see few here as most people around here do change their own hotpoint brushes and even delve deeper with regard to trying a D.I.Y job as there is a lot of not so well off here in the region.

However i do advertise locally 6 days per week in the local newspaper that is out on a daily basis here, £184.00 per four weekly, its amazing the amount of new people that have moved into the area that require assistance and didn’t contact the local repair shops that have been around here for years! trouble is,they dont advertise like i do so the new to the area customers came directly to me due to advertising regular.
Don’t get me wrong, the local shops will have a decent client base already over the years of trading and i see them wizzing around quite a lot.

I also had several thousand business cards delivered door to door to capture the audience that don’t read the local newspaper, the phones not really stopped since!.

So really i think the only way to get anything out is by sticking a good bit in!

Don’t always assume because you are well established and don’t feel the need to advertise, there is forever a new audience to capture moving into your area on a daily basis.

It is silly to have a go at penguin for posting step by step video’s of a brush change, especially as most of us tradesmen come here ( the internet and ukwg ) loooking for answers to jobs we are having a little trouble diagnosing etc!

If business has dropped, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Whining won’t bring the wages in.

    Re: Waterless Washing machine

+ the local repair shops round here only seem to fix washing machines so i guess they’ll go bust and i’ll carry on cleaning up with the repairs to dishwashers/cookers etc that they don’t touch!! LOL.

am i right in thinking you have to much work, and are therfore posting on you tube, a do it yourself guide, for the public, on how to repair appliances.
i do believe that giving people general advice on repairs is ok. but do not think it necessary to actualy, show them how to do it. with this present economic climate i believe this is not the way forward,
hope this does not offend, am i being to fussy or am i not the only independent engineer, with this point of view.

    I feel the same tbh.

I got a company to distribute 8000 business cards door to door a few weeks back, cost me a good few quid but the phone didnt stop for a solid week and a half, hopefully 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of them will hold onto the cards for future work!

    Just a idea.

No martin, the post that i submitted was answered almost instantly… so my post would of went also, the top gun comment was added when i first signed up and was removed a couple of weeks later ( long before the hardware failure problem ).

I just don’t know why my profile would be edited at all.
