    Re: Bosch SGS45C08GB not draining

Had you been washing anything that was very greasy prior to this problem starting? if so it may have “set” in the machine drain pipe.
This can also happen if your drain hose is connected to the sink “bend” you can then get a blockage due to whatever you have put down the sink, flowing back into the drain hose.
Ideally if the drain hose is connected to the sink bend then it should be positioned as high as possible with an upward bend, not hanging from the sink and going straight down to the machine.
You can often “shift” a blockage by putting the machine onto “drain” and giving the drain hose a good shaking when it is trying to pump out, you can also try resting the hose in a bowl and pour hot water over it.

Hope this all makes sense 😉
Failing this you may have a internal blockage, engineer required.
Let us know how you come on

While your at it check to see if you now have a few holes in the top of the door seal due to the drum pushing against machine front panel when the spring broke 😉

    Re: Another joke.

An Amish boy and his father were in a mall. They were amazed by
almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that
could move apart and then slide back together
    again.

The boy asked, ‘What is this Father?’ The father (never having seen an
elevator) responded, ‘Son, I have never seen anything like this in my
life, I don’t know what it is.’

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat old
lady in a wheel chair moved up to the moving walls and pressed a button.
The walls opened, and the lady rolled between
them into a small room. The walls closed, and the boy and his father
watched the small numbers above the walls light up
sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number,
and then the numbers began to light in the
    reverse order.

Finally the walls opened up again and a gorgeous 24-year-old blond
stepped out. The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said
    quietly to his son …

    ‘Go get your mother.”

    Re: punctured tyre

Wifes motor went if for it’s first service last week, we took it over to the main dealer where we bought it. Left it there while we went shopping. Hour later we get a phone call informing us that we had nail in a tyre near the edge, cost to replace £113+vat 😥

When we went to pick the car up I asked to see the damaged tyre, sure enough there was a big hole in it, 3 inches into the tread. I took a good look at the tyre and asked the mechanic to have a look at the other 3 old tyres on the car. I had valeted the car before I took it to the garage and sprayed the tyres with “tyre black”, then asked them to explain why there was no tyre black on the damaged tyre, he couldn’t and the apprentice had conveniently thrown away the nail that did the damage :rolls:
They say that they have not shown me the wrong tyre but can’t give an excuse why the damaged one did not have tyre black on it, I know but it’s proving it. This is a main VW dealer in Newcastle

If you have “metered” the elements and they are all ok then check to see if there is any “cabinet” stats/micro temps that are open circuit, if not then it is probably the board

I think this is a similar model to what was supplied to Hotpoint years ago, and we had trouble with the shaft on the timer drive motor “moving” along it’s length and causing the brass gear to miss the rest of the gears in the gearbox.
Unclip the timer motor the timer take it off and inspect the cog on the motor , if it is “proud” of the motor then give it a little pressure and push it back into position, there should be very little gap 😉

    I’m with “scots”
Get the cabinet off and have a look on top of the gearbox, usually if the clutch shoes are worn they tend to “ride up” inside the clutch housing. Push them back down and try the spin (you will need put a wire link into the lid switch connection). If it spins ok then switch it off then on again, if spin is slow this time then it is most likely the clutch.
New clutch comes with new several color coded springs, make sure you only use the same as the original, blue if I remember right 😉

    Hi Sarah

Your appliance I believe is a”Beko” so spares should not be to much a problem.

It does look to being a heater fault, it would be first thing that I would check if I was repairing it 😉
I don’t think that the heater will be in use in the Pre-wash, generally just a cold rinse.

If it has PCB then your other half needs to look for a “dry joint” if he is a test engineer he should know what I am saying, good luck.

    Safety first, mains off
