What chance has anyone got with any petition if this lot dismisses 1.4 million? Can you all remember the last election where the Labour party received quite a shock from the voters, good old Tony said, β€œ We have learnt from this election and the amount of protest voters, it’s obvious that we in government will have to look at our selves and listen to the public to find out why there is so much disbelief in us ” πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

They very often go either open circuit (between the terminals) or short circuit (to earth), and therefore if you get a reading something similar to the above list, chances are the thermistor is fine. πŸ™‚

Just an update to this problem you may find the results helpful.

Brief description of fault Machine would not energise hot valve even on β€œwet test”, β€œspin test” was also ok.

I checked all the wiring circuits and valves/ motor/ heater/ thermistor etc from the connections on the boards, no problem. πŸ˜• My next thoughts were faulty boards although I was not fully confident, so I sent them of to QER to have them checked. Both came back with no fault found. πŸ˜•

On returning to have another look at the appliance I decided to check the thermistor and heater again by removing the front panel.
Thermistor checked OK but the heater gave and intermittent reading. I removed the heater from the drum and there it was, two β€œscore” marks! I checked the insulation of the heater, all OK but the continuity was intermittent. As we all know score marks on the heater is caused by the drum support failing πŸ’‘ I had done a spin on the washer on my initial tests, up to full speed with no knocking. On withdrawal of the drum the drum support ended up in four pieces!!! I rebuilt the machine with new d/s bearings and heater. Fault sorted, happy customer. πŸ™‚
In all the years that I have been in this trade I have never been so deceived and will hold my hand up to it 😳

We are never to old to learn :rolls: hope this will help next time you find a similar fault πŸ˜‰

I am making the current series of Mer/Hot tumble dryers No1 in the top top 10 of all time pieces of junk :rolls: I get several of these per week with damaged shafts/bearings, broken belts, drums rubbing against rear panels, great for work but I worry that the same faults will occur in a short period of time 😳
I wonder if the design team (early learning school) are pleased with there results of these dryers? they have got to go back to jockey pulleys πŸ˜‰

However, the Sale of Goods Act stipulates that in law the retailer has a legal obligation towards any customer buying goods from his or her shop for a total of 6 (six) years from date of purchase. That the goods sold must be ‘fit for the purpose’ and have ‘a reasonable life expectancy based on for what purpose the goods were sold in the first place

God help the retailer when joe public starts you use this policy! now that the quality of goods is falling to a deplorable state. We all know that the majority of white goods fail to come up to this criteria. Retailers should pressure the manufacturers to produce better goods that will stand up to this six year policy, sadly it will be the small retailer with very little clout who will suffer the most. πŸ˜₯
