That photo shows that the transit bolts weren’t removed properly leaving the (red) plastic spacers still in place.

:rtm: Did you read the install instructions? :rtm:

My guess from what you say is that the drain pump is the caution here.

Edit: one other thought is the float mushroom? Does that operate OK?

I was relieved to know that there were 100’s+ seemily even older than me there (who’d have thought?, even older than Jim I reckon) And yes my daughter suggested I switch both my hearing aids off beforehand, how wise she was as it turned out.

A nostalgic trip for me as the last time I went to a rock concert at Wembley Stadium was 30 years ago to see Queen….blimey!

Re: What is your average call out/labour fee

Sounds about average, though we charge the same but in GBP. But ultimately you have to simply factor in your overheads then make a judgement of what you consider is a reasonable profit in order to sustain your business whilst all the while being competitive. Overcharging these days and your customers simply shy away from getting their appliances repaired anyway. That happens more and more these days considering how the price of machines has fallen.

A slightly better scenario for you here Andy as you have proof in the form of a cheque that confirms your services. Twixy only has a promise. A little gentle reminder that unless payment is received a county court judgement most likely will follow often has the desired effect.

Erring on the side of caution, no-one wants to be accused of harassment so one has to be careful not to overstep the mark toward demanding payment whether by constant phone calls, texts or simply thumping on their door.

((Incidentally and somewhat off-topic (sorry) but one of my favourite programmes on TV at the moment is ‘Can’t Pay Or We’ll Take it Away!’))

Correction: The price of the motor brushes are just £7.69. You can buy them using this link…

No more than £50 labour and £18 for the motor brushes. Unless you live within the M25 then the price could double. 🙁

You’re too good hearted Twixy and it’s come back and bit you. Bereavement cobblers, fix now pay now. Their intent was never to pay and I doubt you’ll get anywhere on this unless to punt in yet more of your money toward an uncertain end. Sorry but there you have it.

Then you’ll need to replace that switch unit. The part number of which is 00165242. The 1 min error should clear once that switch is replaced, though you may have to press reset first to be sure.

It could be you’re hearing the Zeolith drying system which is a unique feature of this model. (No doubt that was explained to you when you bought it, perhaps even Siemens mentioned it?)

In which case the slightly louder initial noise is perfectly normal and yes it is a fan you are hearing. 😉

Re: Bosch SGS43C02GB/35 Classix control unit Programming

The solenoid on the old dispenser could well have blown a triac on the PCB. The set up instructions you refer to are purely for the initial configuration and of no help in this instance. If a microprocessor chip has been corrupted there are no cures other than to replace the board altogether.

If the machine works otherwise it would be better to ignore the use of the dispenser and just lay a detergent tablet in the open compartment instead. Washing performance will NOT suffer.
