ParticipantRe: V6540X0GB/01
Doesn’t appear to be a door lock issue then. What’s the insulation like?

On a wash cycle it’s usually the door interlock. If it happens only on dry then element insulation issues are also likely.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WIS24141GB Bearings failed within 1 year
Ive just checked to find that on this model the bearings can be replaced. So a nice little job for BSH and perhaps the owner can ask the engineer why exactly it failed so soon under guarantee?

No and no. It’s a question of numbers as the majority last long after the 2 year guarantee. And for Bosch that represents an acceptable life expectancy.
The welded tub is here to stay. If you were to perform an autopsy on that one machine you will likely find it not a failing of the mechanics but more as a result of ‘outside influences’. (Limescale, detergent, clothing fibres, human hair etc).

In the 2nd photo it looks as though the drum has dropped back an inch or so compared to the existing belt marking. Is it located on the front support correctly?

Both the main oven and the top oven neons will cycle on and off as the thermostat cuts on and off.

Thank you gentlemen. One has never come across such an expression before but will hereafter hold it in good stead should one encounter such phraseology in future. 8)

How so Andy? A tumble dryer should be perfectly safe to use unattended. Many include delay timers for off peak use. A great selling point when choosing a dryer especially so these days when many so called ‘energy efficient’ dryers take over 2 hours on average to complete a cycle. (Heat pump dryers – 3 to 4 hours).
It is unreasonable and impractical to expect users to stand over their machines. This Indesit fracas just highlights how unsafe their products are. There are more than enough grounds for legislation to be put in place to ensure they make their products safer. Just sticking a pop rivet in the back of the drum and reshaping the back panel is not what I would say sufficient enough in eliminating the risk of fire. A radical redesign with greater safety features incorporated is the only solution. Other makes of dryer don’t catch fire but if they did then they too such be dealt with.
You can leave your gas boiler, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, air conditioner, video, TV, storage heater, ceiling fan and all manor of other domestic devices unattended. The much sort after tumble dryer should be no different.

I’m not familiar with heat pump dryers at all but I’m just wondering if carbon brush dust may play its part in the problem?

We’ve used a jug kettle here in a very hard water area for decades and limescale has never been and issue either.

ParticipantRe: Football Season 2015/16
The Royals sent The Clarets home with just a point after our star goalkeeper saved the penalty they should never been awarded in the first place. One thing very noticeable about The Clarets was that their away supporters were surprisingly silent compared to other away supporters. Could it be that our local beer and meat pies didn’t suit their delicate palates.

Or……
Refit the nut onto the thread a few turns then you can get a pair of point nose pliers behind the nut and lever against the tub. Lubricate the aperture with a little Fairy liquid will make it slip through easier. Do be careful not to damage the plastic aperture, or the tub for that matter.
In more extreme difficult situations use those point nose pliers to pull the rubber grommet out before attempting to move the heater. Again care toward the plastic getting damaged in any way.
