I think 2 months use for one of these elements is quality indeed 😈

You won’t be surprised to know then that Bosch and Neff no longer manufacture ovens using the infamous ‘half moon’ element. All their fan ovens today have reverted to the more reliable circular type. No reason has been given and that fact says it all.

    Re: Door interlock replacement

You can’t do that because the faulty door lock problem won’t allow access. 🙁

It could well be that the faulty interlock has blown the circuit board. Remove it and check for blown triac.

I’ll stick with a faulty element, but the mains terminal block, the oven lamp, cooling fan, thermostat and selector switch can all be suspect.

Very unlikely to be the clock and more likely a duff element.

Wash light flashing would only indicate a mains supply interruption. There’s no over sudsing protection on this model.

Such quality stuff available in Lancashire these days for ‘fettling’ I’m surprised no-one has bid for these quality appliances. :rolls:

The seller also has a whole raft of Zimmer frames for sale, something I will be watching more closely for a potential bargain. 😆

The Beko upright freezer far cheaper, quieter running, can be installed in a garage. Knocks spots off Indesit/Hotpoint rubbish.

Re: cooker with 6 months warranty

The supplier should legally repair it or replace it. If that same supplier also delivered and connected it then they should return and remedy the situation. If the purchaser collected the oven themselves from their shop then they should return it the same way for repair or refund.

    Re: Hotpoint washing machine bearings

I’m less than sure what your interpretation of “howl” means? However, when bearings on a washing machines start to fail the sound is a distinct low frequency rumble. Your machine is capable of speeds up to 1600rpm so it is fair to assume those bearings won’t last very long anyway given the torque stresses 7kg of towels would create. But 2 years heavy domestic usage and you may be on the right track in thinking the bearings may well be on the way out.

Once you hear that low frequency rumble then you know it’s only got days to live. After that brown rust marks on clothing is the first visual sign things are bad. And it’s time to think new machine. 😕

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Trade Associations to help toward safety and product recalls. New government guidelines to be introduced. Wow! It seems this Whirlpool recall is having the desired effect. (My guess is that the WTA are well aware of this development, and are keeping it tight lipped ready for the forthcoming meeting. 😉 )
