    Re: Seimens heatexchanger cover fitting

I have to question why one would ever need to clean the inside of the heat exchanger anyway?

That apart, in your case I guess then it best to order both Heat Exchanger (215761) and the Cover (267631)…problem sorted

    Re: Reduced depth tumble dryer?

I think because of your limited space availibility you may have to either go for the Zanussi compact dryer or consider alternative locations for a more efficient ‘full-sized’ model or indeed revert to a washer/dryer 🙁

Its not welded on at all but heat from the stainless tub has stuck it on fast. When replacing the Heat Exchanger it is best to order the 267631 Cover as well (for what it costs!)

    Dave,

Just reading this thread I looked up the genuine article (C00104513) on Part Centre website. If you want a laugh do check it out (their Catalogue No 852513) it shows a RRP of £247.80 + VAT (net price to me of £102.51 +VAT) :rotfl:

leavemetogetonwithit, I would suggest patience toward your Qualtex agent being the better option 8)

    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting 5

Having just got back on the bus after last weekends meeting (some bus companies would’nt accept my pass so I spent many a cold night in bus stations all over the midlands ’til they submitted).

Anyway, the point of this post is that I don’t remember seeing or being introduced to iadom or alf_uckem ??? It would also be so very nice if someone would be kind enough to post names to faces in the photo gallery that I may be so enlightened 😆

Is it me or are Penguin45’s feathers growing longer by the way?

    Re: UKW washer

Searching around for price comparisons on the “UKWasher” (if I may be excused for using the phrase?) I must say that it far outclasses many at a much higher price on features and facilities alone!

Even taking into consideration “Internet price discounting” and “Special offer shed promotions” it stands, on retail price alone, as excellent value. It’s many features will only add to its fantastic sales potential I reckon 😉

Maybe because your van runs on Propane Gas, they’ve seen an explosive potential perhaps you weren’t aware of ’til now 😯

Detergents (liquid or powder based) can affect the bio-degrading effects of a septic tank system but not mains sewer drainage. Fat and oil based products are the main culprits 😉

Oh! ….and here’s a tip based on my experience, last nights Chicken Biriani will clear your pipes of anything, I guarantee :rotfl:

Have you not checked at the top of this forum under the Known Error Codes thread?

Most likely the fault is associated with the pump, drain blockage. 💡

nerdette wrote:Vinegar has very good cleaning properties, and disinfects too, although not to the same extent as proprietary disinfectants. In fact, some people use vinegar instead of rinse aid, and it can also be used as a fabric conditioner in the washing machine.

The only part of that statement that is correct is the fact that vinegar has some cleaning abilities, the rest is totally incorrect I’m afraid 🙁

nerdette wrote:I did some searching on the internet, and I did eventually find how to use vinegar. You put it into a bowl on the bottom rack, and run the dishwasher on the hot cycle. The spashing should distribute the vinegar.

Don’t waste your smelly vinegar on this bright idea either, the application is plausable, the effect negligible ❗

nerdette wrote:By the way, the washer help site suggests running the machine empty on a hot cycle with a cup of vinegar to get rid of the soapy, slimy stuff that can build up

Hmmm!…I must have a word with Andy about that one! 😯

nerdette wrote:They recommend using a cupful of white spirit vinegar on How Clean Is Your House, but don’t say how. Perhaps it’s so obvious, I’m missing the point entirely. 😯

The purpose behind the use of vinegar is a simple and cheap method for removing hard water limescale build-up (calcium and magnesium deposits) from surfaces such as baths, WC’s Taps etc etc.

This method is however not recommended for washing machines. Instead using the correct quantities of detergent in each wash followed by a simple wipe of the door glass and door seal and leaving the door ajar after use will avert any problems.

Dishwashers do not suffer from hard water problems due to the fact they have water softener systems built-in. And the frequent topping-up of the salt container will ensure plenty of soft water washes!

Dishwasher cleaning agents contain a soda solution, Borax and perfume fresheners. They do work to help restore the shine to the stainless steel tubs that may have been neglected through heavy use and abuse.

Not a lot considering the value of the machine and its likely lifespan….But do please enquire locally as labour rates vary so very much. (Hit the link I gave for more info)

It looks powerful enough though I agree. I might check one out at our local wholesaler who has a further 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off promotion going at the moment…Thanks!
