    Re: Hotpoint TDC32P Condenser Dryer

Qualtex (Part No TOC26) is an auto-resetting TOC that could be the best solution to those dryers that are abused in this way by their owners or their children or even where lots of individuals are using the one machine in this way 💡

Electricmalc wrote:And of course when you go to pull the machine out, the back feet pulls the vinyl forward in a lump. No room above machine worktop, tightly squeezed in, so can’t get anything under back feet.

Easy way to deal with these difficulties is to carry a sheet of Formica Laminate in the van. Buy a sheet and cut it to a size of around 600mm by 1000mm.*

Slide the sheet under the front feet and as far back as possible towards the rear feet. Wet the front edges of the laminate slightly before pulling the machine out a few inches. Stop, try raising the back end of the machine slightly and continue pulling out, ensuring the laminate stays in position without moving with the machine.

That way will likely get the rear feet on top of the laminate and you can then slide the machine right out.

*If you cut a piece from a sheet of laminate that is slightly wider than the width of your van roof space (inside of course) Then you can store the laminate sheet neatly and out of the way in the roof space held between the internal reinforcement ridges – No extra charge for that tip by the way 😆

It refers to a filling ‘time-out’ error. The water pressure may be too low or the inlet valves at fault? If you need assistance to fix it then try our :Repairs@

Bursts of spin then slows down then spins again equates to a faulty MOTOR and not the Timer/Module unit 😉

Sorry Vinod but technical information for your machine(if it were available) is confined for the use of the TRADE ONLY!!

Can I suggest you contact your local Electrolux service dealer for information and help over your problem 🙂

Good chance you have fitted the carbons in the wrong way, also the commutator could be damaged (segments) and yes the next in line to fail if the motor is dodgy is the speed control module 🙁

It is very ‘open ended’ then not to include such a provision. I am aware of many firms that take appliances away for repair and remove parts from them for the same purpose (Thoughts of PAT-UK strike me here 🙄 )

Del wrote:I actually agree with you but it was worded very carefully to be open to interpretation on behalf of the member.

It’s a Members Charter but I thought it was in place to protect the interests of the customer?

Assuming you have a FFA70P then the Bottle Rack (Part No 2603075) is available direct from Hotpoint or by emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk confirming the full model number of course.

Probably the ‘defrost heating element’ has failed. Tricky to replace, best call in an expert as you can easily damage the evaporator etc. Try our : Repairs@ for a local engineer to sort it 🙂

OK fair enough at least I put my point as concisely as I could on this issue and I don’t wish to dwell on it any further. 🙂

To move on if I may, I propose an additional clause be added under ‘Service Calls’ to the effect :-

    8. If it is deemed necessary to remove an appliance or part of that appliance from the customers premises for workshop repair or replacement. It must first be authorised by the customer, signed for and a receipt given.

The preceeding clause (7.) could be reworded (slightly) thus : Any used parts and packaging remain the property of the customer and should be left….etc etc…

Penguin45 wrote:I don’t wish to be rude about it Martin, but you really are prepared to offer a guarantee on components which are designed to fail? I am not; and will not – Charter or not.

    Chris,

Have you read my posting correctly? I’m not sure you have 😕

My understanding of any “Charter” is a framework of basic rules an individual agrees to comply with, period. By all means add certain exclusions to your 6 months warranty clause if you wish (I could think of hundreds that qualify) but I did go on to explain how such a clause can contain exclusions made by each individual should they wish without contravening the basic rules of the Members Charter.

Martin wrote:Any repairer has the right to not guarantee any work he or she does and for that matter any part they fit in the process, provided of course it is put in writing to and agreed to and signed by the customer first

I respectfully suggest therefore that a comprehensive 6 month inclusive warranty be agreed by each member. 💡
