You’ve been reading this straight off their recent ‘mail-out’ eh Paul? :rotfl:

In fact the information they give on that adds to the confusion we are currently suffering trying to make heads or tails from their ‘site’. 🙁

Currently using Identiffier is still way off target in finding the parts you need. The only guaranteed success any former Wash Vac customer will get at this moment in time is the use of the old ‘bin numbers’ as they can easily be found when typed in the box marked “Keyword Search”. That at least will show the part you want. without that bin number god ‘elp ya!

I’ve just been wrestling with their “Saved Packs” function which allows me to add to my order day after day without placing an order until I’m ready. That took some figuring out I can tell you, but at least I’ve got that sussed.

I have to say they have a lot still to do to get this thing running but having spoken to the powers that be within the organisation I still haven’t lost faith in them. My discounts are in place, I do indeed get next day delivery (at last) and most importantly the support is their from them (cannot fault that at all).

In addition….It seems our Mr Commutator is bringing into question the whole concept of advise given on this site. Quering the lack of a suitable ‘Disclaimer’ is one issue I cannot answer 🙁

Seems we have no such thing in place to cover the site overall, and I cannot find it if it’s there, is it?

The clue is in the name after all SAMSUNG (i.e. noun/past tense).

Sam did in fact sing (not very well though) and he’s dead now :rotfl:

Well of course there is Homespares and Masterpart to name but 2 both of which are listed in ‘Web Links’ but also consider HT Maddocks & Son as a brilliant wholesaler and easy on your budget.

Your washer/dryer is known to be a very reliable machine and certainly worthy of getting an expert in to check it out for you. I do not support the idea of attempting the repairs yourself and suggest for safeties sake you cease using the machine and click in this link for help:Repairs@

    Re: On the fence?

Just for the record, a copy of my pm to him:-

    Dear Mr Commutator,

As a Moderator on UK Whitegoods I can say that I was less than pleased to see your post regarding access to fitting Motor Brushes on a Zanussi Machine:-

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=7356

On the one hand your post was without doubt very helpful for anyone wishing to undertake such a task. But on the other hand leads to inciting very dangerous ground regarding electrical safety issues upon unqualified members of the general public. Furthermore specific and dangerous advise such as it was is reckless in the extreme when you are in no position to assess their capabilities of carrying out such work.

I am sure you would look very differently towards giving such advice if such a member of the public where to actually pay you for that information! Now had that been the case and that person was killed or injured as a result, you sir would in law be held liable for their injuries and would be brought up before the judge in court with not a leg to stand on. 🙁

Therefore can I ask that you consider the implications of giving such free and easy advise in future for the sake of yourself and those you give it to. 🙂

    Regards

    Martin

From ‘The Land of the Big White Cloud” to Vancouver where most of the clouds linger at street level. The weather in Vancouver varies in the extreme 365 days a year with rain being certain most days 🙁

    Re: AAAAAaaaaarrrrgggghhh!!!!!!!Zanussi door seal.

I for one at least am very impressed at your ingenuity and am convinced (partly at least) at its viability as THE tool for the job

However, I would like to see it ‘in action’ as it where before I commit one of my own screwdrivers to the ‘anvil & flame’ treatment 🙂

Whilst it gets over the likelyhood of sore fingers perhaps, the main problem getting the spring on is usually the need for 3 hands, one to hold the spring in place, another to stretch the spring around the seal and the third to finally flick it into position!

So using your method then and meanwhile, I can keep my third hand free for supping tea – brilliant 😀

First of all from what you say I suspect you haven’t been topping up the salt quite as regularly as you should? Because from the symptoms, I would suspect it is crudded up inside and needs first of all a good clean with a dishwasher cleaning tablet (or solution), topping up fully with dishwasher salt and if that fails, to get a local engineer in to clean and service it 😉

Just take the 13amp fuse out of the plug is the safest/easiest situation to walk away from to come back to later. That at least guarantees you have done your best to leave the machine in a ‘safe condition’ at least 😉
