ParticipantRe: Problem with Bosch – not taking in water
Gareth,
Probably the lower base plate is flooded as a result of an internal leak, it would need draining and the source found and fixing/replacing. (several components need checking)
:plug: REMOVE POWER SUPPLY(UN-PLUG) BEFORE REMOVING ANY PANELS FIRST :zap:
Due to the difficulties and complexities of your machine to access these I recommend calling in an expert. For a local independent try our Repairs@

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Condensor dryer AWZ650 overheating
I referred to the condenser ‘Heat Exchanger’ unit adjacent to the water tank (the one with the suitcase type handle for ease of removal). Is that clean and clear?
If the answer is yes, then perhaps the thermostats may need checking. A local independent engineer could also check over the whole machine for you, inspect the blower fans, belt etc etc. Try our Repairs@ for one in your area š

Phidom wrote:Also, does the front come off the FL1023 as it looks like a separate panel?
The machine you refer to is likely the earlier version with a metal outer drum FL1023/A which has a 50218956006 (Qualtex DBT12) but the machines PNC number would confirm that. š”
The later FL1023 Door Seal 50206278009 ( Qualtex DBT64) is distinguisable with it’s ‘ribbed’ outer edge adjacent to the spring retainer š

…and it’s my guess the new Partfinder (due out at the end of this month) will be just as riddled š

It is my firm belief our friend Mr Commutator has some connections with HIGHMIST in Holmfirth by the way…. š

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Condensor dryer AWZ650 overheating
Very unlikely to be a thermostat problem, but they would need checking just in case? More likely is a fan circulation/air flow blockage and the first question in that regard is does the water tank fill with water during drying? Also, are the condenser channels blocked with fluff?

ParticipantRe: hotpoint WMA34 filter?
Your machine does not have a user accessible drain filter, however it does have a ‘sump trap’ attached to the base of the drum and most likely that is blocked š

ParticipantRe: Impact
It seems to be working well now since the need for registration (although yesterday- Sat 10th- was dead all day š ).
I wonder if we kept this up until the end of this month say, then re-established back to the old way to see if the spammers return ā

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS66A)2GB20 D/washer
No that’s a normal function of that model. On ‘reset’ it pumps for 1 or 2 secs, stops, pumps 1 or 2 secs, stops then pumps for about 30 secs to complete (Not sure of timing exactly but something like that!)

Yes Lee, lift the pump cover and its the black rubber thing underneath that cover. Lift it out with a pair of taper-nosed pliers to clean! š

ParticipantRe: indesit wdg1095w bearing/seal kit
No they don’t I’m afraid it’s a C00039667 Water/Oil seal you need for the job:tup:

generaldomestics wrote:Ant brainwaves?? Board fault?
I’m not sure Ants have brains do they?
Not a board fault that’s for certain. Is the salt indicator showing? Check the one-way valve in sump? Above all check the final drain outlet or its coupling?
These machines have a infra red soil sensor so don’t read too much into the times shown and what the user booklet says as it varies wildly š
Personally I reckon its a drain problem in spite of your success so far from what you tell. But I would also look carefully at the top spray pipework etc…cover all bases before assuming electronics that after all on this model are top rate.
Have fun! š

Oh my goodness! How come I missed this debate?
Anyway, in the hope of catching up with this tread here is my twopenneth…
…and I address this to you Brian if I may?
The ‘subject’ being ( as so often is on this site) Hotpoint or rather specifically The Indesit Company per se.
Question: Overall sales to the independent trade on spares parts for WMA series machines are going well are they not? If that is so, why have the sales of WM series spare parts far outstripped the WMA by almost double the amount within a similar time scale?
And I guess by now you have sussed my line of thought here haven’t you? (and it’s nothing to do with reliability or sales volumes) š
