Well just hitting the “Print Topic” button does get rid of everything but the relevant text. Printer set-up will ensure the text at the bottom of each page doesn’t get clipped 😉

    Re: Ariston error codes

As far as I am aware they are the same 😕 In fact Indesit are standardising the codes throughout the range of Hotpoint/Creda/Indesit etc I believe?

But oh how I wish someone from the Indesit company would help us all out here P-L-E-A-S-E? 😀

If yours is an early production model you may have a black rubber drain plug at the back of the machine?…If so, simply remove the plug and let the water drain out of it 😉

If not, next question…does it operate at all?

Wow! How times have changed eh since I was an employee (1973 actually).

BUPA? Private use of a Corsa Van? Pension?… all very tempting especially as the future is very uncertain in this game. 🙁

Tough choice for you youngsters, but overall I’m with you on this Andy. 🙂 Enjoy the employee option and if they pull the plug on you or you cannot take the workload, at least you have a trade (of sorts) to fall back on.

Worth a go at least, and, as I always say, if you have the ability to fix things, you will NEVER be out of work! 😉

Paper Kitchen towels scrunched up to stop that spring slippin’ and away you go!

Zanussi FLS1225W is a right bitch to do otherwise 🙄

Incidentally Pat, don’t tell anyone, but when you do get your new DVD eventually, BURN A COPY first then LOAD THAT COPY!!.

Can’t say why here but trust me your computer will love you for it and it will never go out of date 😀

Indeed so and most welcome to learn these new tricks. Even this old dog learnt a brilliant one the other day about fitting those darn Zanussi Door Seal Springs in place with a scrunched up paper kitchen towel. Now all the while I’ve been using a shaped piece of wood as a wedge, but this paper towel trick I tried and its much easier 😀

Top marks the guy who posted it, cant remember now, me being old un’ the memory slips don’t you know

Roll on the next jammed bearing sleeve job I get, is what I say. I will try the other alternatives or perhaps even use the ‘power of the mind’ that Yuri Geller speaks so highly of before I reach in my box for that ‘Birmingham Spanner’ :rotfl:

You’ve upset no-one Pat in your correspondence on this issue. In fact you have highlighted yet again the troubles us ‘one man bands’ are faced with trying to stay afloat. Alex mentioned that they are closing up at a rate in his area, the same in mine, but in a way that is working in my favour and could so easily work for you too if you can hang on in there?

Far better you try to do so my friend than the thoughts of a possible safer option of working for the likes of BG. It’s a tricky call nonetheless and either way and I wish you well in your choosing.

Personally speaking in order for me to keep the work rate going and income flowing I have had to diversify more in the last 3 years than I would otherwise wish. By starting to fix ovens again was a big pain but essential, after I had flogged all my oven spares and thermometer as well. 🙁

I have even started to fix Diplomat machines now!! That’s how bl**dy desperate I was in June when the work died. Last Friday I even fixed a Technic washing machine (Well the bloke was desperate and no other local firm would touch it so I figured what the hell 😆 )

Its fun being your own boss, in control of your own destiny. God almighty I would hate to turn the clock back and be an employee again working my nuts off for peanuts and a fortnights holiday a year, no thanks. 😀

P.S. Don’t let the likes of Mrs Miles and her sort sway your decision either 😉

More than likely I’m afraid and a new Timer Kit replacement is quite costly 🙁

But I’ve only been in the trade for 40 years so what do I know :rotl:

Indeed so, in fact there is little point trying to establish what each of us pay for certain spare parts other than an interest factor being established. Wholesalers work purely on a supply and demand basis and for the most part do a great job in keeping up to speed on the shift in that ever changing marketplace.

What you really must realise now though is the greater part UKW has made in uniting everyone to the many options available when it comes simply buying spare parts these days.

For example, few of you would have heard of the many other independent suppliers we have to choose from these days. Often the BIG BOYS have the major shareholding of the trade, and many only ever know of them as their source of supply. But there are so many others companies out there as well that compete so very well if not better than they do, just waiting to prove their worth to you!

Many of the smaller suppliers are easily accessible and willing to give great discounts even for small orders. They are all listed under Trade Spares suppliers:-
    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ink&cid=34

…and it is hoped many more will step forward to make themselves known? (Maybe even a company called DATA (??) who are listed on the Forums page but not in the Trade listings will show us all what they sell 😕 )

    Pistol,

Nothing to mess around with in the back too much even looking at the Module wont show anything and a Multimeter even less. Just tell us what happens when you try spin with no washing in?
