Re: Siemens D/Washer Identification Label Scrubbed Off

Reminds me of the old adage “How many servicemen does it take to change a lightbulb…..?” :rotl:

My god! It would also be like Fred Karno’s Circus to have one BSH dishwasher on the kitchen floor and each one to demonstrate their individual skills at changing the water heater? Several choosing to fight against the laws of gravity with the door straining on its wiring harness dangling in mid air, all the saline water spillage and rinse aid liquid everywhere! The artistic skills of refitting the base with all its component parts back onto the tub upside down?

First stopwatch stops after 30 minutes, job done…..a bl**dy miracle has been re-enacted before your very eyes.

Can you teach this old dog a new trick I wonder? :con:

Being as your customer is going to shell out funny money for a motor in the first place (why I wonder?), then best get the PNC number to be sure of “which is which” I reckon 🙂

laurenceuk wrote:Is the heater assy the same – 096942? This is a Neff built in S4466N1GB/12.

The correct Heater Unit is Part No: 267775 (about £70).

Once the machine is in the middle of the kitchen floor, fully disconnected and plenty of space around you and it , then it’s an easy job

Panels off, door springs unhooked and locating pins out of hinge to remove door, unscrew top spray arm and the 2 clamps in tub as well as the salt container retaining ring. 4 screws hold the tub to the base, base off and away…The heater is there before you to unhook all the connectors, unscrew the 2 screws holding it in position underneath, ease the wiring loom connectors out of the way …and then reverse the process to reassemble.

(Tip : smear a little washing up liquid on the tub gaskets before lowering the tub back into position, so it slips in position first time) any further probs? just PM /email me for further info on these, easy peasy machines to repair 8)

P.S an 096942 only fits a SLIMLINE Dishwasher (SPS series)

    Re: Hotpoint WM61P door hinge

Best way is simply to unclip the door seal from the front panel, peel it back from its fixing enough to put your hand behind the front panel to pick up the hinge plate thats fallen on the chassis!

:plug: DO ENSURE YOU HAVE UN-PLUGGED THE MACHINE FIRST!!! :zap:

Nevertheless there should be a slight pause, unless your machine has gone totally AWOL for some reason. (Your electronic no-how may come in handy if it has 8) )

You have ‘reset’ it have’nt you (see users manual on how to)??

Re: Want to buy a washer/dryer

You’re back again Chris and still undecided eh? 🙁

Washer dryer is the perfect answer for use in a ‘flat’ without question, for the very reasons you mentioned. Do not try to compare Zanussi with Bosch and certainly do not speak Miele as being in the same league as either. You get what you pay for and nothing more, if you can stretch your purse and buy either Bosch or Miele, thats the way to go.

Most of us can only dream of owning a Miele by the way, if you can buy one, then great. But do buy it only from your local ‘independant’ dealership and not on the “Wee Willy Winky” for goodness sake!

Your dirty washing must be stacking up by now I shouldn’t wonder?

When switched on the display strobes at high speed.

You need to count the number of flashes between the slight pause, which acts as an ‘error code?’

Assuming you have a TDC60 ? Then the most likely is one of the thermostats has tripped forcing the module controller to shut down for safety reasons. The ‘Exhaust Stat’ the most likely (located in the front drum surround)?

You may like to remove the drain plug at the back also to drain off any excess water from a possible flooded/blocked float chamber?
