    Re: Ariston Margherita washer/dryer

Take the soap drawer out and give it a good clean especially the fabric conditioner syphon tube. Clean out the dispenser cavity paying careful attention to cleaning all the spray holes above the drawer.

Any problems? Then get back to us, but please do give us the model number are there are hundreds of Aristons!!!!

Yeah tell me about it, I throw my hands up in despair on this one though 🙁

The thread is dead, its whole potential is lost, free speech has seen to that 👿

I cannot believe that the British Gas Homecare – Beware!! thread has turned into a bloody debacle 👿

The idea of the thread was for Public Input and how the fucking hell can they comment now with all that tripe put in???? What are they supposed to add to the debate..eh?

If you want press and media attention on our side it needs sorting. If you want BG to continue on its way then carry on, let the cock-up continue :haier:

But Ken, I urge you to move those comments into the thread within the trade forum. (Move all comments starting from Woz’s first post ) then lets try to get more public comment, press and media attention, google goggling BACK into that thread*….please 🙂

    APH,

Just to ensure it’s not the Water Softener indicator setting showing in the display, try ‘Resetting’ the machines programme 😉

With the machine switched on, press the ‘Intensive’ and ‘Eco’ buttons at the same time and hold for 2 seconds! Hopefully the result will be that the indicator shows “0” (Zero) and drains for 60secs before turning off 🙂

If that fails then refer to Sparkeys post.

    David,

I’m afraid that in order to see this to a conclusion may well involve having to remove and fully inspect the said brushes. If you need new ones, do please check in our “Shop@” for replacements, far less costly than the £20 you mentioned I expect 🙂

    Madtam,

Yes the CAR79 is the likely part you require and we via spares@ can get for you I’m sure 😉

Not sure what you are holding in your picture by the way. Maybe a copy of ‘Last Of the Summer Wine on DVD’……… :rotl:

What’s a TCE4124W when its at home? (Can’t see it on TDS?)

Most modern Zanussi dryers have a stat in the drum/door aperture that goes ‘Dolly Partons up’ usually 😆

I applaud your sentiments Ken and we are up for it all the way. Thanks to the postings from you guys so far, I at least am fully aware of the situation facing us all in the long term.

Now the way I see it is the only possible way we can overcome B Gas or anyone else that matter (We ranted on, big time, about Merloni last year in the same way) is simply to use UKW by telling the facts to trade and public alike for them to decide.

Currently I am working on the Public aspect, to get them to join in, tell us their sob stories. I will (when I get the policy details from BG) explain the overall COST ANALYSIS of what a Homecare policy in real terms will cost each and every subscriber. (i.e £12 per month equals £144 each year, therefore 2 years =£288 and so on!) Get a mass of folks slagging off BG on the Internet will be the first step.

Beyond that I don’t know what we can do without UKW encompassing the majority of the trade, and as we don’t as yet have anywhere near that ideal, we will be pissing straight into a force 10 gale quite frankly, and BG the ones laughing at the thought.

    Mike,

Its not easy to DIY and for obvious liability reasons we are not obliged to be specific in these cases, I’m sorry 🙁

But as a clue…The whole front panel has to come off to access this little troublesome part…..Best of luck…But you really ought to consider getting one of our approved guys in you know…Not an expensive job either 🙂

Just go to repairs@ and fill in your request, and leave the hastle to us

    Kenny,

The likely culprit is the Control Module. Specifically it is likely the contacts on the connector plugs do tend to burn out on these 🙁

Not tragically expensive for a new Module and the burnt terminals on the connector plug can be turned around and refitted with careful ‘tweaking’ 😉

It will likely cost up to possibly £80 to call and replace an Element if that is the fault?

Check out repairs@ for a quote from someone in your area 🙂
