kheath wrote:Question is how do we reward an engineer for his efforts, 3 jobs done by 0830 ect, and with 10 jobs that day he would not be pleased with an after 1pm call.
It is a great idea for those guys that can cope with an early start/early finish. I know of 2 engineers that are doing just that and have been for years now with great success.
Regarding the after 1pm/after 2/after 4 senario, for those guys it does not enter the frame as those customers that are normally out between 08:30 and After 1 etc, are in fact at home at 06:30, so one problem is cancelled by the other and thus never crops up for them 🙂

ParticipantRe: Hoover TV630 tumble dryer
Siane,
Your machine will have suffered a common failure in that the rear drum shaft and support have collapsed 🙁
It will need a Drum Bearing Support Kit fitting (Part No: 97922496 – cost around £55 ish I think?) available from our shop@ in the navigation bar.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<
The usual total cost of such a repair (using independants like us 😉 ) would be around £100Hope that helps

ParticipantRe: glad i aint a hoover engineer anymore lol
My one and only Hoover drum change experience was on an AB110-001 in January 2003. In my case it was located in a mobile home (caravan thingy) with a kitchen that had just enough extra floor space for my toolbox.
Took me 2 hours or more and all the while I was muttering NEVER AGAIN! NEVER AGAIN!

ParticipantRe: Foaming Dishwasher
My first thought is possibly you accidentally poured washing-up liquid in the rinse aid container by mistake 🙁 The blue ‘Fairy Liquid’ is easily mistaken for ‘Finish Rinse Aid’ 😯
Otherwise simply ensure the lid seal on the rinse aid container is in good condition and that its regulator set around the mid way position 😉
Hope that helps ❓

ParticipantRe: Members Charter
Fair enough!
Is it possible then and better still, within the ‘Profile Information’ sector (where you have got the “Website” and “Location” boxes) to add another box? (UKW Charter Member – or whatever?)
If the answer is again a ‘Not possible’ would it be regarded as appropriate to tack that on to the “Location” information (In my case Location: Covering West Berks & North Hants- CHARTER MEMBER)
Dunno…just a thought 😕

ParticipantRe: Members Charter
I think it would be a good idea to have some form of recognition for those of us that have signed the charter. By that I mean each member having the option of showing he is a member by having an additional ‘icon/button’ at the foot of his postings. (i.e like the pm/profile/www buttons) ???
Is that possible?

ParticipantRe: The most expensive C**k up
RS wrote:I just wondered how many of you will come clean to the most expensive cock-up you have ever made?
Little chance of anyone owning up to that question here Richard 😆
All the lads here have never put a foot wrong or left any spanners behind either 8)
However ‘Expensive Cock-up’ business wise would be my only admission 😳 Buying a shop and getting an engineer to work for me back in 1982 was my most expensive cock-up 😳
I will never make that mistake again 😆

OK bumblebee, if you manually set it onto spin, will it then spin and then turn itself off I wonder ❓ Also if you set it to a ‘Rinse & Spin’ cycle, will the timer advance by itself ❓

You’ve got me puzzled too 😕 What’s a Hoover Galaxy anyway? Not something I have heard of in the UK, so I guess it’s not a UK appliance ❓
