    Dave,

It will be the two thermostats just above the heater plate that are the fault 😉 (Part No 1741124- Cost around £15) Should be available via our “Shop@” site (See Navigation Bar) or from me via my “Email” link 🙂

Two things may be causing this fault, firstly worn motor brushes the most likely. Secondly, the Electronic Module is at fault OR BOTH due to motor failure.

Not a DIY job, call in the experts to have it checked out. Always pull the plug out before even attempting to look at it yourself

Re: Indesit WE16 Washing Machine “Bearings”!!

    Erics,

It is not a DIY job in changing the drum bearings, very difficult, fiddley and a physical challenge even for us experts.

Provided the machine hasn’t been operated in this situation for too long, then changing the ball race bearings and water seal should be all that is required. Cost to do that from one of us guys here on this site (see Directories in Navigation Column) would be around £100 in total. 🙂

If the drum however is very loose and moves up and down on the drum shaft, very noisy rotating the drum by hand, then its possibly a ‘write off’ 🙁 as it would need a complete Drum assembly 🙁

Ah! that’s partly my fault in not fully explaining correctly 😳

According to the Indesit User Guide with this type of appliance, it suggests when the error shows, to then switch off the machine first, then clean the filters before switching back on and resetting your programme again. The idea being that doing so would take over 20 seconds to complete, thus allowing that time for the micro processor to cancel itself 🙂

What Indesit should actually say in their booklet is “allow over 20secs to elapse before turning machine back on!” 😆 😆

    OL,

To be honest I am not sure the reset procedure for your specific model of dishwasher. However (i.e. on some models), usually if the ‘Eco’ and ‘Soak’ lights on the panel are flashing, then simply turn off your machine, then turn back on again and set the programme again and all should be well…hopefully 🙂

Hope that works, if not try this link : –

    Kevin,

Would it therefore be regarded as unethical for me to suggest this guy be ‘named and shamed’ here in TWR?

After all, he apparently has shown his contempt for UKW and what it stands for in the trade. Furthermore I would suspect his very presence as a member of DASA and all the responsibilties that position is supposed to represent be in jeapordy?

Privately to a few here in TWR I have let my feelings be known regarding DASA. Clearly like minded are realising all is far from well to put it mildly and it is time as previously stated ‘To get the gloves off’ and get this whole business unified for the greater good of ALL us engineers out here.

I have a big issue with a so called DASA member here in my neck of the woods. He is hiding behind the pretence of DASA’s ‘Code of Practice’ and has been a long term member, I too could call this guy a GOBSHITE and show justifiable reason! (He’s even got County Court judgements that DASA is unaware off)….DASA my arse!!!

Re: Amusing Ancedotes & Other Tales

I arranged to meet a customer at her house during her ‘lunchbreak from work’. Nice simple job changing a door gasket on a Whirlpool but as time was getting on the customer said “Could I possibly pay you now for the job and go back to work, otherwise I’ll be a bit late and you don’t need me here anyway?”….I agreed, she settled the bill and said “Just drop the latch on your way out!”…and left.

Unfortunately, and what I didn’t realise until a short while after she had left, is that she had re-set her Burglar Alarm on her way out. A few short minutes later the alarm went off, front and back of the house (which I wasn’t too worried about at the time) but then a neighbour spotted this ‘stranger’ in the house and called the police. All this was going on while I was simply run testing the Whirlpool and packing up my tools and stuff.

When I went to go out of the front door some minutes later with the deafening sound of the alarm in my ears, I was confronted with an army of neighbours AND the boys in blue!!!

‘Ello, ‘ello,’ello, what’s going on ‘ere then?… and all that good stuff….!!!

    🙁 🙁 🙁

    Re: Broken transmission strap

    Luca,

Your “Transmission Strap” is what we call a DRIVE BELT, you need a new belt for your machine which you should be able to get locally. You could also fit it yourself I am sure 🙂

Sadly we do not know here in the UK what belt size it is, and recommend seeking local advice 😉

    Mark,

Is your machine a Candy SP100TR ‘Sprint’ ? If so the complete Door assembly is part number 91670645 (Around £50)

…or can you be a little more specific(where this white plastic clip is?) as to exactly what has broken on the door as some individual parts are available for the above model 🙂
