Maybe? ….Just as a though here 💡 …maybe UKW could compile a ‘Standard Contractors Contract’ (including all the legal representations) that could be set as a Nationwide standard insisted on by BOTH parties?
If you catch my drift 😕 ❓

ParticipantRe: Manufacturers Parts List CD Roms
My Merloni CD Rom needs renewing ..AGAIN 😉
As I haven’t as yet gazed at the new range of machines, I am dying to know if the new ‘First edition/Aquarius/Ultima range have the same crappy features of the WMA series???
(The best bit being the combined ‘Sump Trap/Ball Valve and Air pressure chamber unit of the WMA getting blocked and causing servicing nightmares as to how to get rid of the flooded water in the drum prior to actually removing the sump bits……Have they kept that design masterpiece in the new ones….Oh…and the ‘Drum Lifters’….Are they plastic…??)
So much to look forward to from the next Partfinder 😆

ParticipantRe: ‘Stocklink’ FREE!
The lovely lady at Parts Center (aka Wash Vac) telephoned me today regarding Stocklink to add that it stood for “Existing Account Holders only at this time, new customers will get a Free Trial Period and after that depending on turnover of business as to whether Stocklink is given free”.
She also mentioned one Kenneth Watt and Dave Conway did email and she asked me to forward the message on to you.

P.S. I have edited my previous posting to cover all points now established.

ParticipantRe: Indesit Evolution WE13 fault code F09
Roland,
The problem is likely to be an error between the Programme Module and the Control Module. The only option at this stage is to ‘reset’ the programme setting! From memory on this beast you need to push and hold the ‘Start Button’ for at least 5 seconds.
That should reset it completely for you to set whatever prog you like. If it doesn’t??? then you have a problem with the Electronics somewhere that could be expensive if you are not covered by extended warrantee 🙁

ParticipantRe: ‘Stocklink’ FREE!
OK here is the ‘Official Line’ on Parts Center (Wash Vac) Stocklink software as told to my by Eurorealm Ltd (the software providers/administrators).
and I quote…..
“Stocklink will be a free service to ALL EXISTING Parts Center account holders from now on!” (New customers on a ‘trial only’ basis until account is established)
And to answer Daves querie on how effective the software is?….Well its just fine and dandy I reckon since it has Broadband capability. Besides it incorporates lots of GIAS ‘parts identifier’ software and others nowadays, so its very good over all.
IMHO….it will come to pass that they will be able to include Merloni/ Whirlpool/Distriparts software within Stocklink in the not too distant future….. mark my words 😉 😉

Could you give us the model number that is written on the fascia panel?

😆 What part of the word “yes” don’t you understand Ken 😆
Stocklink is now a free service, to the delight of many a Scotsman I expect 😉

Participantkwatt wrote:The golden rule I have my guys stick to is simple, if there looks as if there could be any potential for damage at all – DO NOT remove it!
That rule only works if you refuse the job point blank. Quite often the engineer fails to spot any potential problems until AFTER the job is done. He may or may not have damaged the flooring/wall covering/skirting/worktop or whatever, THEN the customer hits them with a complaint. 🙁
No way out from then on in, just hope your Public Liability Insurance is up to scratch. Very often this type of customer is no stranger to Insurance Companies and see a great opportunity in spending £50 to get a man in to fix the washing machine, when what they really want is brand new flooring, courtesy of your policy. 😥 😥
Tell me Tony, in this specific case, I bet when you got there there was very little if anything you found wrong with the machine 🙄
A few years back, some ‘Bar-steward’ customer of mine successfully claimed for the ground floor flat to be completely redecorated, thanks to my Public Liabiltity Insurance. I repaired a w/m in the flat above, but did NOT reconnect it to the water supply, instead left it in the middle of the kitchen floor. Customers says, “My husband will connect it up when he gets home thanks!”………..Next thing I know, I get a phone call to say they are sending me a bill for the DAMAGE I CAUSED ????
Didn’t stand a chance mate, they got me by the painful bits 😥
Keep smilin’ thru the pain though eh 😆

ParticipantRe: AEG Lavamat 86720-W clicking
Tony,
Did the customer mention an ‘Error Code’ something like “CE” came up at the end last time???
The ‘clicking’ will be coming from the Motor on the top of the Dispenser. It’s a Motorised Water Distribution system and I find not very serviceable. Better fit a new “Dispenser Top/Motor Assy” Part No: 8996454308306. (They’re not cheap though..about £40. Do check the PNC number to be sure of correct part though 😉 )
If the machine fails to fill and that thing is clicking on top, then it’s a new one you will need mate 😉

Andyr,
I don’t think the subject has been raised before and my answer is no!
I am an old sceptic over these so called ‘Eco’ ideas but maybe someone can enlighten us both?
This link may help those that are not sure what we’re talking about : –
