ParticipantRe: Bosch WFL2462GB/12
Thought I would add this bit of info to the thread. As with Alberts problem a while back, I too have come across the same problem, in this case with a very similar model (WFL2260UK/12).
First I found the selector switch knob had come out of sequence. I found the inner drive coupling was damaged and ill fitting. I ordered a new coupling and went to fit it today only to discover the cause was due to the main selector switch had burnt out on the Module board. Having to order a complete new board at £104′ ish.
The up-shot being, if you ever come across the later series of Bosch W/m’s with the single rotary programme selector dodgy, then its a new Module AND possibly a new Drive Coupling you’ll need 😉

ParticipantRe: Dishwasher nightmare….Please help.
Paul,
The Make and Model number are very much required before we can help I’m afraid. There are hundreds of differing types, all have their individual problems 🙁
Check door, door surround, any user paperwork etc for that vital snippet of info 🙂

*dolphin* wrote:Shall I leave it at that? If so, thanks for your help.
Ian,
To be honest, I think that the best option. If it’s less than 2 years old it should be at least covered by an extended parts warrantee. And an expert will be better suited to sorting it anyway 😉

Errr! Scratching my head at the moment as these machines are not ‘an exact science’ by any stre——tch 😉
I assume you have turned the machine off and on again and fully ‘reset’ it as per your ‘user guide’???? If not then hold in the ‘start’ button for 5 seconds, then try again.
Fingers crossed eh?

Ian,
It is a ‘Filling error’ which means the water level sensor has been interrupted for some reason?
Whilst these error warnings give some information as to the ‘likely’ cause, they are not to be relied on. I suggest maybe you had better check the pump first. 😉 (Located on front R/H/Side behind kick panel).
Turn off and disconnect first though!!!

Andy,
Please don’t take this the wrong way Andy 🙂 but I take it you are wearing sun glasses ( 8) in your avatar 8) ) and not ‘roses tinted glasses?’
“Merloni as an employed engineer?” you ask…..??? Huh!! Just stop a Hotpoint van one day and ask the guy driving. I did that a month or so ago in Basingstoke, the guy told me he would be better off stacking shelves at midnight at Sainsburys, less hastle and more money!!!

I and many others have strong views, opinions and ideas on this very issue that cannot be discussed here right now, but will ‘come to the fore’ at our meeting in Stafford. Ask me the same question again next Friday 😉

Caz,
Whilst the ‘Drum Lifters’ may be a little on the weak side, as long as you continue to wash your trainers in the machine, then I’m afraid they will keep breaking 🙁
For goodness sake and the sake of your machine, simply soak your trainers overnight in a bowl of warm water and a little detergent. In the morning, douse them in cold running water and hang out to dry…easy, less hastle & better results too 😉

Ken,
Over the 39 years I have slogged away in this trade I can’t tell you how many women I have had to run away from after they have paid me for my ‘toils’ 😆 😆 😆

Tony,
I don’t know how new you are new to the trade generally, but such instances are not unusual for us good looking, virile and talented guys. But my advice remains the same to all….look but don’t touch, possibly better advice still is to simply take the money and run and never return 😆 😆 😆

ParticipantRe: Bosch Dishwasher….
Cleat,
You will obviously need to check the insulation reading of the element first. I guess it must be high and the likely cause, bit of a cow to change though 🙁

Shamus,
You have a motor and possibly control module problem then I’m afraid. Could be expensive to sort I reckon 🙁
If you turn the drum by hand does the motor sound smooth or does it make clicking noises? It is very likely the motor armature is shot!
