Not forgetting LG’s crappy web site access or lack of it, ISDAL are well done with it like I am now!

Re: HELP! TUMBLE DRYER ON FIRE! HELP! TUMBLE DRYER ON FIR

    Hi Judy,

Correct me if I’m wrong but haven’t the forensic investigators established beyond all doubt that the cause(source) of your fire WAS the Whirlpool Dryer? Or is this still conjecture, with them(Whirlpool) still arguing the case against?

I thought from what I saw on BBC’s Watchdog that it seemed pretty conclusive, and that the fault was indeed the dryer? Presumably you have kept the BBC up to date?

Sorry to frustrate you even more with questions at this time, I sympatise greatly with you and your family of course over this terrible situation.

I wish there was more that we at UKW could do for you?

Mid to late September is favorite!

August Bank Holiday weekend is 27/30th, travelling that weekend will be chaos anyway!

It is most likely to be a blocked pump I think you will find.

    Re: Hoover AC120 spinning constantly

No! I guess in that case it is Timer/module Unit based (or connections to it of course?)

You are correct in thinking that during wash it would at least pause between tumble phases, so it must be the timer I reckon.

    Andy,

Double check the motor plug connectors, especially the tacho leads.

I have had this model with the tacho leads close to the motor plug break off!!!. Then of course it suddenly leaps into spin, and the flash is simply the carbons blasting into fast spin!!!

Look carefully at the module off course but I reckon it is tacho based????

    Deb,

Crystal glasses are the only type of glass it’s better to wash ‘by hand’. Otherwish you should get perfect results every time in your machine on any programme setting. Ordinary glassware after time will take on a ‘bloom’ type of appearance (i.e colours of the rainbow effect) Which means the outer coating of the glass has etched away and deterioated due to effects of the detergent.

White deposits?…that can only be due to too much Rinse Aid, just turn the setting down a fraction!

    Deb,

The 3 in 1 Tablets are a waste of time and money really. The claims on the box are untrue and exaggerated to say the least. Regular powder or tablets have exactly the same effect.

Also be aware that whenever you change the water softener settings on a dishwasher, they will take at least a couple of wash cycles to take effect.
Each time a dishwasher water softener ‘regenerates’ it is getting ready for the following cycle and not the current cycle.

    Re: Before It Starts

A lady is a little concerned about her dog’s hearing, so she takes him along to see the Vet. The Vet, following a brief inspection of the dog’s ears says “Ah yes, I can see what the problem is. You see the ears have become clogged with matted fur. I could try to remove it with scissors, but the dog may get a bit upset, and struggle, which may be dangerous.”

The lady askes if there is a safe alternative, to which the Vet replies. “Yes, there is. What you need to do is go along to a local Chemist and buy some hair removing cream, pop that in the dog’s ears, and he’ll be fine!”

The lady thanks him for his time, and goes straight to the Chemist shop. She walks to the counter and says to the young man behind it, “Excuse me young man, I’d like to buy some Hair Removing Cream”. The chap, evidently something of a salesman replies, “Of course madam, we have a new brand just in I think you’ll like. It is quite strong though, so if you’re going to use it on your legs, mix it two parts to one with cold cream”. The lady says, “no it’s not for my legs”. the chap continues “well if you’re going to use it on your face, mix it four parts to one with cold cream!”. The lady, clearly exasperated interrupts his sales patter, “No! it’s not for my legs or my face, it’s actually for my Schnauser!”. The young man responds……..

……….”well in that case, use it full strength, but don’t ride a bicycle for three days!”

You’re going to end up paying more to get in fixed in the last 3 months than cutting your losses and buying a BOSCH.

I do find on my database a White Knight CL767 Condensor Dryer that has 2 stats on the heater volute. The manual reset TOC is part no: 4213092212614 and the regular TOC alongside is part no: 421309221251.

There is no reference as to their rating however?
