ParticipantRe: Hot News About Indesit
Here it is in detail from BBC’s Watchdog Web site:-
Indesit D63 Dishwasher
10th February 2004
In the last year, Watchdog has been contacted by 11 people complaining about dishwasher fires. Of those, 5 complained about Indesit, and 4 about the D63 – including the 3 cases on the programme.Paul Key’s house caught fire last November when his Indesit D63 dishwasher went up in smoke. His insurance company investigated the fire and confirmed the dishwasher was to blame. Naturally, Paul wanted Indesit to accept responsibility.
Bernadette Kilroy got her new Indesit in March last year. Four months later she came home to find smoke coming out of the dishwasher. Bernadette’s dishwasher fire caused serious damage to her kitchen. Indesit still refused to pay out her insurance excess of £150.
Paul and Bernadette’s insurers both employed independent experts to root out the cause of the fires. It turned out they were both down to the same thing – something called ‘resistive heating’. Resistive heating can be caused by a bad connection or corrosion.
Gillian Tomkins dishwasher was only 4 months old when it caught fire. Again, it was a D63 model. Indesit sent an engineer round to look at the dishwasher, three times. Gillian said ‘they couldn’t ascertain what was wrong with it and sent a report in to head office.’ But Gillian never saw the report. She said “I didn’t feel like Indesit were listening to me or taking my concerns seriously. They were basically just hoping I’d go away”.
Indesit’s response
Indesit’s makers, Merloni, apologise to those customers for the distress caused by these incidents, and is now discussing compensation with all three. They say they became aware of an over-heating problem last summer and, as a result, introduced changes in September to solve the problem.
Indesit add ‘If any of our customers are concerned, they can contact us through our customer help line on 0845 456 4226 or our website http://www.indesitservice.co.uk’

Not sure what you meant by the question? I am not near Winchester. If it’s fridges you meant then no also, but you may wish to click on the link below for some company on the Internet that does supply such devices:-

The pump is accessible on the front right hand side. To drain the water off, lower the drain hose into a bowl or bucket until empty. Remove the tub to pump hose clip and check for blockage within the pump chamber and the sump hose.
PLEASE DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS BEFORE ATTEMPTING REPAIRS!

Almost certainly the pump is blocked and not draining off the water.( It needs to drain off 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the water before it will spin) However if it is draining off the water but still won’t spin, then it more likely the Motor is the problem and more specifically, the Motor Carbon Brushes are worn out and need replacing.
Any local repair company could advise beyond that. DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIRS YOURSELF!

The’re called “absorpsion” fridges and generally only available these days for use in Mobile Homes, Camper Vans etc. as they operate without a compressor using low wattage electric heating elements instead.
Electrolux manufacture a range for this specialist market and are readily available, however their capacity is rather small, smaller than the more usual domestic ones anyway.
Hope that is of some help?

I met one of the officers from Trading Standards and officially applied to join. Now they carry out a Criminal Records Check as the first stage to registering.
Will keep you posted!

It is a good way for businesses to show that they conform to certain standards and are duly accountable for their business practices by being registered.
It costs £100 per year to join. Restricted only to businesses based in Hampshire but I am told the scheme will eventually become nationwide.

ParticipantRe: ADP 8224 Reset Codes
Andy,
I am not certain if anyone on this site can help you there. Better contact MFI for a copy of the users instruction book if you have lost yours that is. I am sure the book would give you the information about resetting?
With other brands, they often ‘Highlight’ which two buttons are required for resetting by putting a dot/dash or similar mark under the relevant buttons.
Sorry I cannot be more help?

I haven’t a clue about the Module problem in question lolly as I do not deal with this brand. I feel sure the rest of the guys on here will answer it in due course. But my thoughts at this stage are, that I would give little credence to those ‘engineers’ that have ripped you off so far, their ‘diagnosis’ very suspect. If it is true what they say and that the Module Panel IS faulty??? then it can possibly be repaired/reconditioned by one of the trades brilliant electronic wizards, namely: Q.E.R or HJM Electronics. They repair and replace components on the board and return it like new for a fraction of the cost!
It will be interesting to see what my collegues add to this? But hang on to your machine a while longer, I reckon all is not lost.
