    Re: 2nd appliance rate

We charge £40 for the first 30mins on site the £7.50 each additional 15mins all plus VAT irrespective of the amount of appliances fixed during that time. Much fairer to your customer that way don’t you think?

(e.g. Suppose you call to replace the Motor Brushes on a W/M and the customer asked you to fix the broken Door Handle on her dryer whilst your there. Surely you wouldn’t charge another £20 or would you?)

The Hotpoint Extractor simply does not work. Only use it to put the new bearings in and not waste time using those colletts in trying.

I look forward to that Brian and perhaps you guys could stretch the renewal period to say 9 months at least to help keep our ongoing costs down?

Fear not from rogue traders joining our group (most unlikely) most of them can’t read or write anyway!

As long as it doesn’t exclude all members from playing a part. I should hate it to be a ‘Members only’ clique.

Re: How do I go about getting prices/spares instantly?

    First things first.

You need spare parts so you need to set up an account with a wholesaler. They have spares catalogues and cd roms available, usually for free. They have all the info you would need to identify Make, Model, Part description and prices Etc Etc.

A number of wholesalers are listed here under “Web Links”.

Hope that helps you on your way? Tough trade to start up in though…best of luck!

    Re: Bosch Dryer Error ?

The fault almost certainly is caused by a blocked pump hose to the condensor reservoir. Take the LH side panel off to access the small black hose and clear the blockage. (Usually caused by the customer not cleaning the condensor matrix and fluff filter regularly)

I also think I would suspect the Module or at least the connector block to the Module (some contact may have burnt?)

    Good luck !

Re: Repeated door seals damaged on Candy DQ120

I would suspect the drum spigot is broken. To check rotate the drum and if it appears slightly bucked or offcentre, it will be the problem. Also stick a couple of wet bathtowels in and see it ramp up to full speed. If it starts knocking the spigot is busted for sure.

Lousy job getting the drum out by the way!

    Re: Hoover AB130

Usually these motor armatures burn out if the customer has a habit of doing continual washing (no sooner has one load finished, another goes in) The motor can’t hack that type of pressure but we enjoy the consequences. More work for us…and we love it!
