Just the one TOC as far as I know and yes the cooling fan might well be the issue.

Used AEG washing machine blows fuse

A pig in a poke springs to mind. Oh dear. Well, the usual reasons it trips the electrics is due to an earth leak of a failed component. Most likely suspects are the heaters and also the main motor. Each will need testing with a Megger (insulation tester).

And what value do you think you got for the 300 plus quid it cost you for those 2 years?

Did doors of opportunity open for you?
Did more customers come flocking your way because of your affiliation?
Did you feel relaxed in knowing you were part of respected trade association?
Did you believe having the DASA logo on your van make any difference?

…..or are you just 300 quid worse off for the experience?

Remove control fascia, bottom kick panel and unhook door boot clamp ring. The rest is obvious 😉

Cool’ish air should come out. Whatever though, as long as you can detect air being circulating outward from those top vents indicates that the cooling fan is at least operating.

You didn’t bless us with the actual model number but usually on many Bosch washers the heater is accessed after the front panel is removed.

As you will see from the illustration in your ‘user operator guide’ showing the plastic cover plate that unclips and lifts clear in order to access the pump impeller chamber. (If you have mislaid your user guide’ one can be downloaded directly from the Bosch web site). 😀

Once you’ve cleaned up the plastic off the shaft you shouldn’t have any difficulty.

Then, as I mentioned earlier, speak with the supplier and explain your concern about the noise. Perhaps they can call by and check that out for you?

It’s the front air inlet fan (replacement part no. 00650172) it fits on the splined motor shaft by a spring collar (part of fan).

All the while the oven is on the cooling fan should also be at work blowing cool air out from those slats. So I’m thinking that the cooling fan is NOT working?

stin74 wrote:What ive noticed is the sound of the motor is very noisy in certain parts of the cycle, but is ok when spinning fast, but when building up to the spin is noisy,is this to do with worn carbon brushes ??

If the brushes were worn then you would hear clicking noises as the brushes were arcing. That being the case the motor would stop working pretty soon afterwards. It could also mean that the brushes are in fact new and need a wash cycle or 3 just to bed in as it were.

stin74 wrote:also there is very slight banging upon spin, notsure if its a sign of early bearing failure or whether some support has come loose ??

It could simply mean the machine isn’t level, on uneven ground, on loose floor boarding or that the load was a little unbalanced. As far as early bearing failure goes, well it is 2nd hand after all and the bearings were not necessarily replaced. Or perhaps they were but the drum spigot wasn’t?

All of the above should not concern you too much at this early stage, it has that all important “6 month warranty” after all. But you may like to just to voice your concerns to the supplier for perhaps a more defined explanation to put your mind at rest.

IncredibleMrT wrote:What makes you say Stoves? Is that down to being a brand you’ve used yourself, or are you a repairer?

Yes I’ve used one for over 10 years in one property. I bought Stoves again for another property very recently. The quality is the same, the usefulness just the same and British built into the bargain. The temperature control is very constant, heat dispersal even throughout. Mine is a double under the counter model so I can grill whilst using oven. It even comes with a proper grill pan and not one but two oven shelves. Your Bosch and Zanussi have no such luxuries. The only negative about Stoves, although the same could be said of most brands these days, is that the user instruction leaflet is rubbish.

And yes, of course I’m in the repair trade and have decades of experience with all the brands I speak about. As for Beko, well I have no dealings with the brand so perhaps other trade members can help you there?

…..or maybe remove the air hose to the pressure switch, power up machine briefly so PCB records empty level. Then power off before tackling the blocked pump problem? 💡
