Re: Help the Aged Bosch washing machine

The fact that it fills yet fails to drain might, just might, suggest that the inner control dial has broken? The affect of that means that whatever you think you have set it on the dial is in the wrong place. You can discount the door interlock as, as you say, it wouldn’t fill if it were faulty.

It not tumbling once it has filled would indicate that the motor brushes need replacing and/or the heater is faulty.

So there’s a few thoughts for you to check out. 😉

Dunno which hob exactly you have there as you have given us the wrong model number. But it could be that the flame groove adjacent the thermocouple device is blocked? Check when it cools to see if it is fully clean and clear and that it is seated correctly.

    Re: Are all NTC interchangeable

You have the heat pump dryer manual now Peter so you can see what the NTC ohms rating is at ambient in order to eliminate it. (6050 ohms @ 20 C)

Check the element with a meter is what we in the trade would be our next move. Throwing parts at it based on a very unreliable error code not the wisest choice action. Error codes are just a rough guide and not to be entirely relied on.

This low cost alternative doesn’t mention the WFK2801GB/01 though – in fact it doesn’t mention Bosch at all.

They will fit your Bosch OK. 😀

It is indeed an NTC though the fault more usually would be the element itself shorting against the metal frame.

Forget the descaler and just hope the pump doesn’t jam up trying to clear that muck away!

Ah you’re one of the select many that owns one of these Chinese made machines. A free ‘fortune cookie’ with every one sold. 😉

But seriously, assuming you’ve fitted the correct replacement brushes and that the armature hasn’t got any burnt or raised copper segments then the main PCB could be at fault? The belt is meant to be tight by the way so replacing it will not cure the problem you have by the way.

Not any time soon it seems lee8. Perhaps you may trouble yourself to check out the ‘Trade Work & Vacancies’ threads to see the many small businesses seeking staff.

On second thoughts, don’t trouble yourself. You never bother to help/contribute your many apparent skills to this web site so why should you possibly bother keeping in touch with what is actually going on?
