No ideas because you didn’t supply the correct model number (ENr number) for us to know what machine you refer to?

    Imagine the installation instructions:

Lift the rubber filler cap and using the plastic funnel (provided) slowly pour 25 litres (5.5 gallons) into the tank. As the top and bottom tanks are inter-connected allow sufficient time for all the air to escape first to avoid the danger of saturating the electronic components within (see Clause 13a of your guarantee exclusions) Please note the importance that all 25 litres must go into these tanks otherwise air pockets could develop making the machine unstable during normal operation.

If you intend installing the machine in an environment where the ambient temperature drops below 0 Celsius (32F) it is recommended to use a 5 to 1 mixture of water/antifreeze solution to avoid the containers swelling and falling off! 🙁

Nah, won’t work! Theory is good but application not practical.

Back to the drawing board Kevin, unless that is if only we can find some heavy water….hmm?

It does sound like that may well be the case. It does have an auto reset thermal trip. The only sure way of testing the motor in situ is that when it cycles on and off is to pause the programme, let it cool for a few minutes then turn it back on. That way it could run for a few more minutes before the trip starts acting up again. 🙂 💡

If the heating element has a slight leak to earth then this can create random errors such as this. Check the heater’s earth potential.

Don’t forget the ‘unplug motor, reset, plug back in,reset’ option.

Re: Bosch SMI50C06GB loud droning sound

Could be a noise coming from the water inlet. You’ve checked the drain so now turn off the stopcock and unscrew the aquastop valve to check the filter. If the water pressure fluctuates during different times of the day and night then that could explain the random nature of the noise?

If you type in your browser ‘extra quiet fridges’ OR ‘fridges of 43db or less’ then a wealth of choice comes beckoning. 😉

That is an appalling gas pipe union. The solder weld looks less than total. Clearly the bodger installer was fearing his blowtorch would completely incinerate the cupboard unit so heated as much as he dare and loaded the solder into a messy splodge.

If you were to email that photo to the Gas Safe website they would insist you get it tested AND probably question who the hell did it? :eeek:

Re: Electrolux EWX127410W; pump noise question

Your description sounds quite normal. The small permanent magnet drain pumps these days do make such noises. They are gravity fed systems and therefore those noises are more pronounced when all the water has been pumped away!

Brendarran, I have to say to you my friend that is a true heartfelt confession. I have to say that from you I visualise life in the raw in highlands Scotland. To me in the Home Counties, the dog eat dog world down here, you may not truly realise the enviable position you find yourself in.
