It’s a heat pump dryer so by ‘tank’ do you mean the compressor?

Re: Water sitting in coin trap / damp smelling clothes

The sad but all too common result of liquid detergents and low temperature washes I’m afraid. The bad news for you continues in that if you could physically see the outer drum from the inside you would come across a wealth of mould spores that take some shifting believe you me. Only very long hot washes and bleach based detergents will have any chance of shifting it.

Also, it is vital (I stress vital) that the washing machine door and soap drawer are left agar whilst not in use in order for air to circulate within. So if you don’t combine the two tips you won’t cure the problem I’m afraid. 🙁

Fair play to you Fred, I hope you get plenty of trouble free usage out of your new Indesit. 😀

A quick and easy resolve is to wrap veggies in paper kitchen towel before placing in the crisper. Especially so partially sliced cucumber, lettuce and cabbage.

Well the Indesit IDV75 is a pretty basic machine without doubt. Hopefully you bought it via John Lewis for that vital 2 yr warranty? Oh wait a minute, no, you bought it elsewhere as you have Indesit’s own 10 yr parts guarantee. Darn! If it goes wrong in 13 months time that’s gonna cost you £119 to get it fixed. 😯

Fingers crossed that your good luck will hold out though. 😉

    Re: Dryer Vent location inaccessible

It’s puzzling to me how the vent outer grill was fitted being as there’s a fence so close? Or could it simply be a large hole in the wall and your fence abuts that hole just 5cms away?

Either way there is little or no danger your fence could be damaged from such a vent. A degree of steam will exhaust but again should not affect or compromise your fence or boundary.

Access and cleaning is a worry though, especially leaves in the Autumn and snow in the Winter. Though again that will only cause your neighbour and his dryer a problem and not affect you or your fence.

If I were your neighbour I would have sought a more sensible solution by buying a condenser dryer thereby eliminating the need for a vent. Or to relocate the vent ( if at all possible ) to a more serviceable location.

I see where you are coming from here. If only our job was that simple and devoid of all risk and potential come-backs eh? I only know of one such profession and it involves getting elected as an MP. Comes with lots of perks including a gold-plated pension.

Most of the agents I have come across do and usually define it as a ‘clients a/c’ on the cheques they hand over.

No matter the make OR model of domestic washing machine they buy the programme times will still well exceed the hour. Average wash times on most garment/load settings are nearer TWO hours….!

There are just two basic options to resolve the issue :-

Option #1 : Replace machines for full commercial units
Option #2 : Allow users at least 2 hours usage of existing units

For that much hoped for “one hour time slot” these machines aren’t ever going to be the solution. As you can see from the programme time chart (attached) even the mixed wash cycle will go way over that at best. Time jumping up and down throughout each programme to be expected ensuring a perfect wash every time, however long it takes.

    Re: Letting Agent Contracts

Don’t sign it!…..Your ‘contract’ is with the letting agent and not the landlord or the tenant. Simple rule: Those that request a call pay for it!

Conversely, you should get the letting agent to sign your contract based on the above. Besides that, letting agents generally have surplus funding from the tenants as they pay their rent in advance. The bigger the letting agent the bigger their reserve funds!

The bo££ocks some agents come up with beggars belief 😡
