    Re: low water level?

That is a normal water level so that is not your problem. It could be several things like, over dosing with detergent? Wrong program choice? Overloading? Pump filter partially blocked? Etc etc….

The thing is the digital display is a simple timer and takes no account of the amount of filtered water used. A clever ruse by Brita to get you to buy more filter cartridges than you actually need.

So to save the planet don’t replace the lithium battery or buy cartridges unnecessarily, just make a note of how many times you refill with tap water instead.

From memory I believe it relates to an air pressure switch error of some kind. The red brick small PCB is the 3D load sensor.

I like your style Auntie. We in the trade should (perhaps?) consider such a direct approach to simple repair solutions such as this. 😆

Thanks for clarifying the model number Auntie. Now we know that and the fact it’s a Hoover and not a Hotpoint, you need to purchase a 7UF (micro-microfarad) capacitor. Bit of a swine to fit but at least by buying one you’re well on the way to fixing it. 🙂

    Good luck

Not so Don, the fabric conditioner/softener is only released at the start of the final rinse cycle.

Yes even Bosch machines destined for sale in Devon. As you Devonions correctly put the clotted cream on before the jam, the Bosch washes the clothes first with detergent than adds that softener finally. Perfect! 😉

    Re: Miele – 7kg versus 8kg capacity

Looking very closely at the product data sheets and general performance specifications between the two there is very little difference between them. In fact it would appear that they are virtually identical. 😕

Overall annual water consumption and electricity consumption seem a little contradictory between the two models also. But then EU data fluctuations are like their currency I suspect.

I have come to the conclusion that there is little or no difference between them other than model number and quoted capacity. Perhaps it’s a simple sales ploy for those that have previously had a 7kg capacity washer and might want to replace it with another? Or maybe are now tempted to upgrade in load size and buy the 8kg version for just 50quid more? Or to quote Miele, the choice is ‘immer besser’ 😉

I would agree with you there, it should indeed. Which now prompts my next question, have you taken the drawer out to check for any obstructions?

To be honest I don’t believe that there’s a problem here. If there was it’s one I’ve never heard if before. Just one capful of fabric conditioner, doesn’t exceed the ‘MAX’ marker, is rinsed away and the washing machine completes the cycle as expected. The only ‘problem’ is not being able to smell the conditioner on the washed clothing afterwards. How could that possibly warrant calling out an ‘engineer?’ (Besides a no-fault call out may incur a charge)

Possible reasons : The detergent used could offset the perfumed conditioner? Fabrics washed on the incorrect cycle, wrong temperature? Washing dirty clothes on a quickwash cycle? Synthetic fabrics usually do not retain much or any detergent or fabric conditioner perfumes if washed on the correct cycle.

Finally, the only way to be certain that the fabric condition isn’t released until the final rinse is to carefully open the detergent drawer after the machine has stopped filling on each and every intermediate fill cycle.

    HTH? 😀

Re: Water inside Salad/Crisper Drawer under lid.

Ethylene gases some fruit exude has nothing to do with condensation and chiller storage but more to do with cross contamination and decay. (Ethylene bags for bananas works brilliantly by the way, I can testify to that.)

You might like to get a digital thermometer, the sort with a wire probe? Very handy for double checking both inside and outside the fridge temperatures. The salad drawer is the coolest part of the larder cabinet so place the probe in there. On the other shelves ensure there’s no liquids uncovered as that can lead to increased condensation in the coldest areas.

Well to explain the part the compressor plays this Miele video will help. (Exact same principle for all makes of heat pump dryers by the way)…
