    Re: Dishwasher heater control

Then the problem is clearly heat related. So, we’ve established that is does heat (i.e. Gets hot and steamy, enough to steam your glasses anyway). So it could indicated it ‘overheats’ due to a faulty thermostat OR the drain pump gets sluggish trying to empty the very hot water at the end of the final rinse.

Now, I believe you have confirmed that when it stops with 1 min showing it has in fact fully emptied. So that rules out the drain pump though, in my experience, that is the more likely component to fail rather than the thermostat. There is a third possibility in that the plug in connection to the thermostat (sits atop the heater unit) may be loose?

I hope that may help you? 😀

There’s another thread slagging off a certain wholesaler for them flogging spares cheaper on the Interweb than you can get ‘trade’. This small sample proves otherwise as the link below shows, Qualtex (aka Appliancespareswarehouse) …….

So just to clarify, if you set your machine to do just the Pre-soak program it still shows 1 minute at the end does it?

I can’t find any answer as to how to wash clothing that come into contact with paraffin based emollients other than washing in detergent? A contradiction in the extreme.

They all warn of the dangers of using the stuff, including the NHS and The Fire Service but nothing else….huh? 😕

Open the door on a dryer and the clothing combusts due to emollient residue, really? I’m not doubting this, just extremely curious. Could this be a commonplace reason for tumble dryer fires?

No my fault Chris. You described it correctly and I read it wrong. All the same and for me it’s easier to lift the tub away but others will simply hinge the base away and fiddle a new grommet in.

30 minute job doing it my way. 😀

It’s the normal tub off base system I apply. Is it leaking then? Are you certain the gasket is at fault and not tiny pin holes in tub causing a leak?

Crud blockage in heat pump impeller a possibility.

    Yeah that board looks OK.

Another possibility? Partial main circulating pump blockage allowing the heater safety flow switch to operate leading to a ‘time out’ problem. Therefore check for plenty of spray pressure flow through each spray arm once it has filled. (Test that during a pre-soak cycle).

A decent photo of the whole board (solder side) would be nice 😀

Agreed, sounds like door magnet problem. Specifically the decor door and floor levelling issues causing door switch to go on and off randomly a likely cause.

The facts speak for themselves, the ‘engineer’ didn’t have a clue. The symptoms point clearly toward a blockage, the most common problem a dishwasher is likely to suffer from. So yes, “inform” him of his classic oversight, why not. :rolls:

Yes it splits open easily. Just release the latches.

Miele? Great choice. The wash pump failing? Very unlikely. Buy it, read and abide by the user instructions. Always put salt in the softener and you’ll have a dishwasher that’ll last for years and years 😀

What is moving around, the machine or yet more sediment?

If it’s the machine, it just needs levelling. Sediment? Only a total strip-down and clean or loads of rinse cycles will cure the problem. But hey! It’s a Panasonic so your worst fears could be a reality if non of the above cure. 🙁
