Is your waste pipe (drain hose) coupled to a sink drain coupling? If so, have you checked that that too isn’t restricted with debris?

The most likely reason for your troubles is that the heater is faulty and needs replacing. Next question : Have you checked it? 😀

What are Paym’s charges? Their website makes no mention of charges and nothing in life is free. What’s the catch here?

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

The public’s apathy toward this issue is only too evident when you check out Andy Slaughter’s government petition. Just over 8,500 so far of a 10k target before the government are forced to give a response. Though my guess is that should that response be called upon it will show how powerless they would be toward instigating a full recall.

Re: AEG Washer Dryer Trips MCB

Oh I didn’t realise your machine has a brushless motor, sorry, scrub that theory then. When faced with such problems we in the trade immediately get to the fault using an insulation tester (aka Megger). That tool is vital for rapid testing and locating potential earth leaks which is what your machine is suffering. So without a Megger and only a multimeter to test they are pretty useless by comparison and therefore you have to rely on a more ‘hands on’ approach.

So, with that in mind and bearing in mind it’s just 10mins into the cycle. That’s when the motor, heater and wash pump are hard at work churning away the washing. It’s a new heater so that may well be OK. But we don’t yet know the state of the motor or its inverter module and of course the wash pump…?? Hmm?

No sign of water leaks anywhere is there? Worth double checking also. 😉

Tripping under maximum load could well mean that the motor is at fault. Earth leak across the commutator terminals very likely. Time to take a close look at that motor methinks.

    Re: charging for credit cards

Well the airlines are the latest to drop credit card charges and rightly so. The public at large don’t what to be made aware of the costs to businesses by them blatantly adding a surcharge. Instead all businesses should hide their outgoing costs much like they do anyway for vehicle costs, insurance, accountancy fees and all and sundry.

Credit/debit card fees all part of factoring in ones overall outgoings. If you are VAT registered then only the 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} additional charge be specified.

(I expect BA and Virgin will be ramping up their prices to offset their very public declaration about credit card fees anyway)

I’m more than convinced that Rodney is fully proficient when it comes to safety procedures. He’s a radio ham after all (as am I ) and very experience with high power amplifiers and such.

I’m fairly sure from what you tell us Rodney that the magnetron is the guilty party. 😀

You’ve fitted the belt onto the tensioner incorrectly.
