ParticipantRe: Indesit SIXAL 145UK – Door Gasket fit
Hi folks – just an update and some questions..
Went to fit door gasket but customer wanted to leave till after Christmas!! so charged her for gasket and call out and left it there but had a quick look at m/c to see what was involved on return. The only fiddle I could see was the hose clips as pedicted BUT first time I’ve seen one of these machines and it left me with several questions..
These have only five programes (i think) just wash programs, none of them rinse, or spin and no indication of once you have started a programe how 2 get the m/c to go into a spin to get water out.. presume you just cancel program off to get the water out but what about just a spin?
There are no indicator lights so what happens when a fault occurs – it looks typical Indesit inside with the crappy module tucked down the rear so does the m/c shut down and do you need computer and software to dignose or is there some indication of what the fault is???
How does that stupid soap disp work in the door – looks a right abortion and frought with probs with door seal leakage?.. Does the water flush the soap powder out through the top of the contaner or the bottom, as the holes looked to small for a decent flow of water through them at the bottom.. and what about the sponge in the little tray that retracts when the door closes. 😆 Obviously there to catch the drips from the dispenser when you open the door but talk about heath robinson.. :rolls: Some stupid nerd designeer has gone to bed thinking he has done some super inovating design and not realizes what a piece of crap it is..
Coments apreciated..

ParticipantRe: Hoover HSV170 T/Drier – rubbing sound?
Sorry folks been busy and meant to post an update..
It was the drum seal at the back of m/c that was making the noise..
Sorry was misleading you all with the bearing description it was a bronze bush type – it was the shim washer that made it look like a ball bearing type on first glance..
Hope this helps

ParticipantRe: Hoover HSV170 T/Drier – rubbing sound?
Thanks 4 the replies guys.. dont think it is a bra wire as it was a rubbing rather than a scraping noise.. but always a posibiltity..
Martin are you sayin you think it is the drum bearing then even tho it is a ball bearing type rather than those old ceramic type?
Either way looks like a retun visit n strip down if no one come across this before..
Thanks for the help

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DWF70 Demo fault?
Thanks Don.. Phoned custmer with those instructions and cured problem… Why on earth do Hotpoint make m/c with demo mode in the 1st place beats me?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Nexus4 Cond Drier – cutting out
Thanks for the reply Chris bore this in mind when I went back to the call today.. Sorry forgot to say this was one of the humidity sensor type with the the insulator round the middle of the drum isulating the two halves..
Tried the test procedure from the manual but found it all quite confusing as the instructions not all that clear when to take off the sensor short on the drum in the test proceedure so wasnt all that sure if there was a problem on the electronic sensor or not..
Anyway as I had a bit of spare time this afternoon so sat with the machine from cold.. worked ok for about 30 min then found the clockwise rotation started to be intermitant so suspect one of the motor relays on the pcb failing when the m/c warms up as the heater continued to be activated and and after the apropriate time the anti clock rotation kicked in.. did pinch the connector board connections to no avail..
This board looks like a special order from both Connect or Masterpart so before I orded just wondered if someone out there might have had the same problem and conferm a module fault..
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Indesit W133uk – f8 fault
Went today as a last ditch effort to change heater NTC but found I had been advised wrong one as the one i went with had pins for tag connections and the one fitted looked on closer exam that it was fitted as part on the heater element and had pin connections..but just out of persaverance squeezed up the connector block to NTC connections on heater.. m/c started working ok..
Full of sceptism changed module and pressure switch back as I was fed up and was calling it a day told custmer to try it but would probly fail again and to go buy a new m/c..
message when I finished tonight that she had done two washes ok…
:rolls:Moral of the story… yet another place to try for poor connections of these m/c’s the heater NTC connector block..

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJ1296 No Heat
Had one earlier this year and found pressure hose chaffed thru on small pressure switch so switch not opperating.. as martin said they feed the heater thru that switch so m/c was simulating no water in..
Pitty they don’t do that on the later w/driers.. see plastic tub melted thread 🙂

ParticipantRe: Melted Zanussi outer drum
Had one about 12 mths ago with the same fault – hole in tub due to heater on with no water in – earth fault on heater but wrote m/c off as unviable repair so didn’t pursue any further..
I just wondered if it was the earth fault on the heater that caused it due to switched neutrals on digital m/c’s but wasn’t brave enough to just change heater and rear half of tub with the risk of it happening again due to somthing else and heater earth fault was due to over heating due to lack of water due to somthing else..
Was tacken aback that Zanussi had,t put any protection in to save this happening tho..

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIDL126 module connector block
Did solder this in the end – test to your soldering skills as the connections very close together but did as Phidom suggested and cut block to save soldereing all six wires…
Price of wiring harness part plus a special order was begining to make the job to long winded and customer was considering buying a new m/c..
Thanks for the help..

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIL163UK Motor or Module problem?
Thanks for the replies folks..
My feelings were that is was armature.. (yes because of all those old hotpoint armature probs) but with advent of all the crap modules indesit are turning out these days just wondered if it could have been the module..
You are right Penguin the motor does seem as if it has lost it’s starting torque but once it is up and running eg. spin it seems ok..
Looks like it might be new motor quote then..
Will conferm this if I get the job????
Thanks again

Sorry Jim hadn’t got reading glasses on plus its these new hotpoint partno’s so didn’t recognise them as partno until you said.. still used to the 17**** no’s
Looks like it’s partno C00093717 but like you say – bit of a rip off at aprox £20 trade + vat.. might end up with the soldering iron after all…
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIDL126 module connector block
Thanks for the replies guys..
Looks like the block itself is not availible as a spare part then?..
Did think of soldering wires on like you said Phidom but just wondered if there was a block available to save doing that.. I know its probley a better job than original but more trouble if module had to be changed again in the future.. just wondered if I could aviod if possible but looks like that might be the only solution…
Thanks for the e-mail iadom but was just after the conector block not a headache (smiles) but much appreciated as always.. unless there is a mod?
Thanks both..
