    Thanks for your reply Kai. changed the top module which came with the rotary switch back now all I can get is the LED display just lights up in a clockwise rotation is this a set up fault do I need to program something or is this a test sequence?

    Sold them a new m/c so will be taking this one back to workshop so watch this space!

    what ohms reading should I be getting across the ntc at room temp. Have you ever had a ntc fail

    Just got back from hoilday, martin, so sorry for the delay. have allready checked board for damage and cant see any.but there has been water on the plastic case.

    this is an american style one but it dosnt have the large paddle in middle its one of the new ones with a large disk in the bottom. Its cr p its not as good as the old one.

    Had the same problem 2 colour catchers stuck in the filter m/c would not drain ended up sending the board to emw to get it re-programmed. I tried all the reset procedures and got nowhere so how do you drain these bl….. m/cs

    .035 meg or 35k a little bit high. cant seem to find the part no for the ntc even thoough thay give it a drawing no of 0207.

    easy to test with the righthand side panel off just make sure that the m/c is not leaking as the water in the bottom blows the heater

    so if the customer drained the m/c over the floor to remove a sock or colour catcher they would have to ring hotpoint to come and reprogram!I can see hpt engineers running all over the place.

    I think you are right there was water in the bottom because the tub/tank was leaking
