Re: Siemens Washer/dryer (WD61400GB) not spinning

Not sure if this machine has a tacho coil fitted..

. That’s a small coil attached to the rear of the motor.. It will have 2wires coming from it.. And underneath this there is a permanent magnet attached to the motor spindle.. This is how the electronics recieve the relative speed info ..

Check the wires are intact..and check for continuity of the coil using a multimeter…
Also take coil off and check condition of the coil, and the magnet…

    Power off at all times!

Does it attempt to spin, then slow down again? Or just no movement at all?

Re: Hotpoint WM52 door lock forced open – HELP!

Check the door interlock is correctly located, if you had to force the screw back in, it’s probably not seated correctly… Or could be the catch on the inside of the door that locates Inside the interlock has been damaged..

Well, been to fit the new clamp today..
Definitely a lot easier using the method described by Jem… Or should that be “Gem”
Took me just 25 minutes. Customer was as impressed as I was!

Thanks again for that tip jem
