ParticipantRe: E10 on Electrolux washer/drier EWX14450W
Very embarrassing but I realised I had the water supply off when I ran the tests.(hence the E10) 😥
…however the customer is adamant that the dryer function is not heating. The machine performs perfectly doing the washes. But no heat from the dryer. Could someone be kind and send me the diagnostics pgm?? 😀myfil
ParticipantRe: Miele T294C Dryer No Heat
Hi Dave
I tried your trick, also put a wet towel in. No joy, so it was check heater and TOC for continuity, check resistance of rear NTC (all good) take out the heater pcb at rear right under lid, look for dry joints under relays, check main pcb is sending voltage to heater pcb…(all good so far)… At this point the customer, a wealthy chap, arrived and announced that he and his wife had decided to buy new, and how much did he owe me for the work done so far? (I was about to remove the front panel to test the front NTC, about the only thing not tested, apart from a break in the wiring loom). Very frustrating, but as it was well past my dinner time, who was I to argue??
Note to self: continue to avoid Miele machines…myfil
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WT740 showing F-08
Thanks for the input guys.. I got a Mk 6 board from EMW (bless ’em) and went back, meggerd motor and (submerged) heater (not much point in megging them dry). All OK. Tested machine again and all working perfectly now (with old board still in place). Several tests, but all OK. So told customer to call me if any problems, settled up and left. If any developments, I’ll add to the thread!!

ParticipantRe: Tricity Bendix 5 flash code & diags needed
Thanks Colin, Phil sent me the PDF already. Customer is now deciding whether to continue with diags or buy new. I also wondered about an intermittent tacho fault. It looks OK, not come loose. I s’pose magnet could be loose inside…

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF12070 Washer Not Heating
Got the module back from EMW, repaired (they are brilliant – couldn’t live without them!) and fitted it, and heater circuit and all else working OK. Thanks for the stuff Mike.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF12070 Washer Not Heating
Not siphoning, as I checked for that. I have sent the module to EMW for testing/repair.
My Zanussi is out of date. Could you email me the PDF? I will need the test procedure. Cheers.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF12070 Washer Not Heating
Hi Seamy.
Yes you are right about the model no.
The heater shows the correct DC resistance on a meter, so is not open circuit. I ran the machine for 15 or 20 mins on the 90 degree pgm and at no time did any voltage appear across the heater. I did not get any fault code. Neither has the customer had one. Does it not sound like a module fault?myfil
ParticipantRe: Siemans Washer code F43
No problem with brushes, but what is the test pgm for this machine?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJS1225W Washer F10 problem
Definitely not siphoning. Also water pressure is good. I ran the diagnostics and it came up with F11 which I believe is again slow fill problem. I am changing the fill valves, and we’ll see what happens…

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJS1225W Washer F10 problem
Siphoning is possible. although it is an old installation, never siphoned yet (It does not go into a standpipe as I recall) I shall have to trudge out there to check!
Can anyone confirm the error codes for this machine, or send me a list?
Cheers

ParticipantRe: W’Pool Dryer AWZ8578 need error codes
Has anyone had any experience with the “three flashing red LED” problem with W’pool dryers? I notice there are many reports of this problem on the general internet, with no workable solutions mentioned anywhere.
There’s a thread from 2008 on WG, titled “whirlpool awz 7913”, but no remedy there.
Any suggestions/fault codes folks? Or is this just a PCB failure?

ParticipantRe: Can’t split Bosch Washer Tub
The plastic clips are in groups of 3, so I chopped off the outer pair of each group with a hammer and sharp chisel (dead easy). The remaining clips I prized open and they were a great help when I reassembled the tub with the extra screws.
You have to be careful with the Bosch water seal, to tap it in just flush with the top of the bearings tube. It is easy to push it in too far and it then rubs on the front bearing (unlike the Hotpoint ones, which are better designed)
I must say it is a lot easier with two of you getting the tub in and out.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WT960 3-phase motor problem
On the green label it has CIM 2/55 132/HP 3 Phase Induction Motor –
195v – 3A – 800W – 310Hz – 17500rpm (and barcode)Also a white label has CIM 2/55 132/HP4 plus bar code
Would the HP3 differ from the HP4?
Email me at mike@appliancelink.coooo.uk if you like George, with a price.
Cheers
