    Re: Bosch/Siemens carbons

    Hi Alan
You may find that the tag on the patterned brushes are silver and slightly smaller? (Qualtex car93), but the BSH154740 should be the same as these and interchangable.
BSH also used a motor that operated with AEG type carbons too,(some WFF2001 and WFR2800 variants)
The only other one I wondered was the spanish produced WFB series and such like but have never had cause to fit brushes to one.

    Re: Bosch SGS43E02GB/43 cutting out

It is a strange one, but I have had it before with these boards, you have to get them in the right light to see it, and is generly hard to see by eye especially if on the lower ampage side of things. Never had an on/off switch fail like that, hardly ever replace them.
One other avenue worth exploring, as i had this last week is the socket especially if its behind the machine. The plugs are famous for sticking to the tar at the back and can lead to the plug being pulled in/out of the socket, poor connection around the plug pins etc, martindale tester is inconclusive as draws no load so maybe try a different socket? They are only drawing about 2amps until the heater kicks in and puts it into the region of 10.
I may have a board kicking around for this one but i’d have to have a look.

    Hi
Sounds like a dry joint on the PCB, especially when under load heating, probably around the relays or transformer.
Take the pcb out of its case and have a good look at it, if you can’t see it by naked eye try a magnifying glass.
If in any doubt as to condition of joints resolder them.

    Re: Would you buy Remploy

    Hi Guys
I was on my own for 4 years and did recons, used to put them in the free-ads etc, it was a case of making ends meet on quiet months!
We used to recon Zanussi FL1012, 812, 811s etc, even the odd tidy washcraft! and would sell for £85 upwards and proved almost bullet proof.
Iwas very particular about what we sold. even paranoid!! especially when I took on a verbal contract to supply one of the local retailers wit 95 series hotpoints. We would strip it completely, fit a brace bar, new pivot cups on suspension legs, bearings brushes and doorseal & timer connections, had an old hoover single tub boiler that we used for the cleaning of all plastic bits, they looked superb! The retailer sold them for 160 and covered the warranty work but I would supply any parts needed, was all done on trust. Believe it or not, in 2 years i only had 1 fail!
Then the retailer started buying in ‘recons’ on a cost basis, I never seen nothing like it! Half of them didn’t even work to start with and none had the brushes replaced, some were even worn out to start with!
On this account i’d never buy a recon from someone else unless i knew them personally, further more, I WOULDN’T BUY GRADED!
Needles to say, I would never go back self employed by personal choice as its so hard for independants these days and I wont repair/recon anything for anyone, there are people out there trying to make a living from it, i’m on PAYE now and its not fair taking the bread out of other peoples mouths, well thats how i feel!! :rolls: 😳

    Re: Boiling Zanussi

    Hi Guys
A Serviceforce engineer once told me that on certain variations of these machines if the drain is restricted or filter is blocked, they will boil up.
Apparently they are heating until they drain and when the pressure switch drops out it cuts the heater. 😕
I questioned this as the machine has a plastic tank and what happens if the pressure system blocks etc but he reassured me that the heater has a TOC in it.
But the the bloke could be talking b@ll@cks?!
Although this scenario could be possible with this sort of fault as you said it didn’t spin 💡

    Hi Guys
Yes they are a little pig……
Get the cooker out and take the top off, pull off the control knobs on the affected side.
There is one T20 screw holding in a cage arrangement that holds the 2 display film strips and control switches.
The whole lot comes out as one piece but takes alot of fiddling to get out, I have never had to take the facia off but others may find this easier.
The film carrier is held in with another T20 screw.
The strip has a ‘timing’ notch cut into it that has to be aligned with the carrier so everything displays correctly (Like timing when doing a cambelt on a car!)
Don’t be suprised if your back two weeks later with it broken again, but thats another story…………………. 😡

    Hi Guys
A Bosch KGV or KGU will work in low ambient conditions.
The KGV has a switch on the stat housing that can be selected to run the lamp at half power to raise cavity temp in the fridge, the KGU brings on the lamp automatically as has a NTC on the control module.

    Hi Guys,
I would walk away from it too, you gave him the chance, he’s on his own now.
You can bet if he gets a module and fluff’s it up he’ll blame you anyhow!
Isn’t this just the typicall pig headed arogant attitude of the general public these days, if their all experts why the hell do they call us in the first place?? 👿
Tell him to get knoted! 😀
Went to a dishwasher the other day said not emptying on the call sheet, this was true but the moronic ‘have a go hero’ had taken the door off completly!!! WHY? Walked away from it as wasn’t prepared to pay (was under warrranty), management stood by me.
Not bad considering he wanted me sacked 😆

    Hi Guys,
As you maybe aware, I haven’t put my profile in and for good reason.
I work for one of the manufacturers, those in admin know who it is and you may be able to work it out from some of my “posts”
We were told in no uncertain terms by management that any activity here would lead to deciplinary action if we were found out. 🙁
We ARE being watched by the big boys, management even named certain users on UKWG! 😯
As I say, I joined after the ‘Warning’ out of curiosity 😈
Its been 12 years in the trade for me this year, I left school at 15 and have done nothing but whitegoods since, like many other users here, its our life, work and social scene, perhaps the companys should appreciate that?? There are far far worse things we could be involved in than a work related forum!
We are all adding to each others knowledge and understanding amongst the trade.
    LONG LIVE UKWG! 😀

Well, i’m going to give this method that Chris has described a try.
I got an old SGS5002 here that is scrap (or soon will be? 😈 ) and i’ll let you all know how i get on. It too needs a heater box.
I know some colleuges preffer to work on dishwashers this way, but I was always told ‘only upside down if its scrap’ when I was an apprentice many years ago 😳

    Re: servis d/w error code

    Hi Paul
ERROR E5, This check is carried out during the drain water phase.
1st case. The error DOES NOT stop the wash and is displayed at the end of the wash cycle
Error is signalled before filling with water if the pressure switch is registering FULL
    Skips water full phase
    Executes the next phase.
Check the drain pump is operating correctly and hoses are not blocked.
Check the pressure switch resets correctly
2nd case. The error STOPS the wash and is displayed IMMEDIATLY.
As above but is still full of water from last wash or pressure switch is acctivated.
