    Thanks Dave.

The customer decided to replace the machine, so I never got a chance to investigate the board. What you are suggesting sounds very likely though, thanks.

    • New rear probe sensor reads 7kohms at room temp, so the old one was faulty.

Thanks for your help Dave, good man!

    Thanks.

Will reply with room temp resistance of rear sensor when it arrives for future reference.

Presumably air flow (deduced by position of dryer element relative to dryer fan) flows from back to front, exiting through the door seal.

Meaning outlet NTC is the one situated on drying frame located above door seal.

The zanussi website doesn’t name them as such, unfortunately.

I read on another post the usual resistance at room temp is in the 6k ohm range. Thus, if wiring is not faulty, module is faulty.

Does anyone know the expected resistance of outlet NTC at room temp?

    Cheers.

    Hello Dave.

The diagnostic mode showed E72 – Output Drying NTC failure.

Excuse my ignorance, but what NTC is this refering to? There is one mounted in the top front of the drying frame just above the door seal. Another located near pulley which pushes into the outer tank.

I have room temperature reading of 7kohms on NTC near door seal (top of drying frame), and 0.5kohms for the NTC located at rear near pulley.

There is another error code (e73) which refers to as Input drying NTC failure. I’m not getting the e73 error.

Thanks for any help and apologies if this info is explained in the documents you had sent me.

    Daniel.

    Thanks Dave.

No, not yet. Knew it was possible, but haven’t done so in a while and didn’t remember the sequence.

    Further to the previous post.

The machine eventually displayed E09 after completing the quick 45′ cycle. The first time an error code has been displayed.

E09 can be caused by overheating, water restriction during circulation and/or Control module.

Had another look at this one today after customer studied machine for a week.

On quick 45′, the machine often gets stuck at 29 mins remaining, roughly 15 minutes into the program. Sometimes it goes from 29mins to 35 mins and completes the program with excellent wash results.

Upon visit, noted that on quick 45′. Wash seemed fine and at 29min, the display reset to 35 mins.

However, the machine then kept activating the tablet dispenser – I heared it clicking – I shut the tablet closed again and within a few seconds of resuming the program by closing the door, the tablet dispenser clicked open again – my understanding is that this should only happen once at the start of the heat cycle.

machine also seemed very sudsy – like when you accidentally pour too much rinse aid in and it froths-up. Given it had literally just drained the heated wash water, this seemed wrong – filters are fine.

It’s as though the main module is corrupted and keeps repeating itself unnecessary.

Very strange and not sure where to go next. I initially replaced the operating module (control knob one) as on first visit, the program selection was bugged and you got a random program duration displayed (prior to starting) regardless of what program the knob was turned to. Like when the pot fails.

    Annoying!

Dryer elements have historically been a problem in the past with leaking a small current down to Earth.

If it works with dryer element disconnected, i’d be 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain to replace the dryer element.

    Thanks Dave.

Yes, I’ll schedule a return visit and properly inspect the module/rule out CL.

    Cheers.

Don’t think so. For both the customer, and then me to unknowingly accidentally engage the CL seems implausible.

The door did lock first use after fitting the new door lock and a program started. However, when I boxed up the machine a slid it back into position, the original fault came back and the new door lock wouldn’t lock again.

I presumed this was a board fault. Thinking maybe a pcb component revived itself after a few days of being unplugged and subsequently failed again.

Thing is, I had a back spasm whilst there and could hardly move, so my recollection is hazy. I’m still hunched over now!

    * And of course it was the type with 200 screws in the back, on old loose lino (dig-in) flooring.

Luckily the customer was out so she didn’t have to put up with my groaning and swearing!

New valve cured leak, old one was stuck open.

Ice maker sorted itself out after dispensing a big block of solid ice.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Dave.

Managed to get the customer to turn electric power off and open water supply tap. Water flowed through.

So have ordered the double valve as it must be jammed open.

Will update after fitting, but can’t see how it can be anything else.

    Cheers
