ParticipantMake sure customer isn’t overloading machine and blocking airflow.
Also, opening the door to check if things are dry can sometimes cause issues (?) = residual heat in element and no airflow.
Always quiz/advise the customer on these things.

ParticipantI’ve scouted the parts available for this machine at connectios and can only find thermisters.
But, how does the automatic drying sense what moisture is in the load? I understand how tumble dryers do this, the usually have some carbon brushes passing a current between two parts of the insulated drum (when clothing is wet it conducts. Once the load is dry, the system goes open circuit and the machine knows to stop).
Couldn’t locate any system like this on the washer dryer though?

ParticipantAs far as I understand, any payments will be a taxable income.

ParticipantHave had similar when the pulley bolt came loose. As if the magnets didn’t line up correctly. Tightened it and was fine.

good to clean down before you start on appliances as well
Man! Some houses I have to wipe my feet on the way out. The ones where you cant even set your toolbox down because literally every single inch of space is covered with some nasty shit that should either be washed or thrown away.
And Friday I get to the house and they are fresh out of the shower, leaviung the doors all open so it’s like a sauna in th ekitchen (bungalow). Then they want to stand over you and explain what I should do…
Sorry, I’m ranting. But, are we allowed to just say no to those places – or will be liable for some sort of 1984 cleanlinessism charge?
😀

How did you cancel – phone, email? I looked into it but thought there was a protocol of doing so in writing with an x amount of days notice…

ParticipantNot sure about tomorrow. Are we likely to get a fine for being out? No one seems to know what the deal is.
Also, just had a job for an elderly care home who pay months in arrears (they already owe me alomst £500 from befor xmas). Feel like i want to get paid as waiting over 100 days doesnt seem like a good idea for my business at the moment. Also morally torn. Holding a care home to ransom for the bill seems morally challanging, doesnt it?

i would check the power supply on the board as it may be one of 2 things
the sort of power supply used on most boards these days uses a system called fold back under fault conditions. this means if the current increases too high the power chip will shut off to stop things from blowing. then when its turned off it will turn back on again. The result can be this on and off problem and it may be another board causing it
i would disconnect all other boards and see if it still does itDave
Many thanks for the helpful info Dave – much appreciate the help.
I’ll try disconnecting the selection board as well as testing various for earth faults etc.
Thanks.

ParticipantAny ideas why a manufacturer would state that their sub 2.9kW appliance would need hard wrirng? Logically, a 13amp plug can either handle the maximum load or not? Are they just trying to reduce the liklihood of an incompetent customer going DIY?

Thanks for the reply Don. But, are you sure? The code you have linked seems to relate to a washing machine door switch. I am after the usa dryer type which looks like the follwing image…
Thanks.

ParticipantSo, basically they have altered the design because the original design wasnt man enough and the customer has to pay for a whole new motor. Doesn’t that basically prove that the design was ineffective when they sold the appliance? Unbelievable.
* Rant over haha
