ParticipantThanks Jem. Appreciate the help.
Having to purchase motor listed at retail £158 + VAT seems like a reasonable consequency of a two-penny plastic jockey wheel failing.
It’s daylight robbery, Hotpoint should be ashamed of themselves.

ParticipantHave a snorkle in the thread I linked above. Reminds me of a fault I solved a while back. The relay which switches the elements on was faulty.
Good luck.

ParticipantIt can be a tad fiddly, but once youve done a few its easy. I cut the rubber whilst its still on the old element. Then take it off, and you can peel the rubber apart and saw through it. Have never had one pop out after doing this. Gl

ParticipantIf the rubbwr has a lip… saw it off the old one and add it to the new one…

ParticipantThanks Dave, will try that. Never come accross that system before.
Thanks.

ParticipantNice! Thanks for the advice. I’ll knock up an old screwdriver. I see how you approach it. Get behind the ribber through thermister hole…

ParticipantIgnore me I’m being a dimwit! Thermister is attatched to the main control module.

* TWIST 😀

ParticipantPart 1480 actually rotates. Managed ti unclip a small section near where the handle is, peering in you can see it wants to twit out.
Thanks

ParticipantI would be tempted to try and hook on another dryer element. Most of my puzzlers have been result of earth leakage on drying element which didnt show when tested cold.
other than that I would start isolating (disconnecting) various parts and seeing if the result changed.
Good luck

ParticipantPresumably, this fault is to do with the drying phase of the program.
Customer is getting by as it only occassionally faults. But, I’d still like to get to the bottom of it.
* Any technical data on this machine, please?
Cheers.
