Thanks for your help here HOLLYTREE.

The machine is still usable, and given my lack of xp working on these, I wont be working on it again!

STill, I appreciate your input, hopefully someone else will find some worth in this thread.

    Peace.

Not familiar with the model, but have had similar problems on other machines IF they have a wire mesh filter – where the drying chamber attatches to the tub.

    gets clogged and reduces airflow.

Remove it and see if any of the plastic zigs are broken. If its the type i am thinking of.

also often board becomes loose as plastic clips break which hold it steady.

    SOLVED:

    Just finishing this thread…

The process listed above resolved the issue. I was able to explain it to the customer over the phone.

Presumably, they had previously accidentally activated the permanent lock.

What fault do you have dooper? I’m now about to start a thread concerning the E4 I have on a similar model.

Thanks for your input Jem, appreciated.

The machine does heat the water, and the wash/rinse motor does seem work perfectly.

I will check the elements to confirm they are all working (if indeed it has more than one).

i noticed the main selection switch had some signs of burning – plastic switch body slightly darkened etc. However, it appears to work on all settings.

i do wonder whether the operators are confused/thinking there’s a ploblem when there isnt.

If only i could confirm that under normal working circumstances:

    • If the selection switch is left on a 90, 120 or 180 setting, is opening and shutting the door (after a wash has completed) meant to restart a fresh wash? Or is the operator supposed to rest the switch to off before attempting a new program. That does sound a bit counter intuative to me, but, as i said, i am not familair with these machines.

    cheers.

Hmm, reading that suggests that the lock should indeed ‘switch itself on’ after 30 seconds ‘if’ the permanent lock is activated prior to using the oven.

    So, it looks like:

    * If permanent lock is accidentally activated, it will show up by automatically activating 30 seconds after using the oven (once the selection switch is in the zero position).

    * Three clicks will allow the user to operate the oven. But, to cancel the feature altogether, after those three clicks, a further 6 clicks are required.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention electrofix, much appreciated. I did read through the manual, but it appears i misinterpreted the instructions.

    Ps. What a hideous system!

And of course if the pump impella gives up the ghost (Sits in a dry condition for a week or two – blocked chamber = no moisture)…

Have you checked the float? Bottom Right (viewing from behind, where the pump sits). These machine won’t heat if it thinks the water collection tray is full. I’ve seen the floats disintegrate and cause problems before.

Re: Whirlpool usa (3LE5710XMW3) Lid switch actuator spring l

    That’s great all, thanks.

I ended up using ‘electrofix’s’ link. With super fast delivery it’s less than £30.00.

I have been trying to repair it over the last few months (after my initial search for part came up as obsolete).

Firstly I crimped a terminal on and secured with a dab of solder. Worked a treat until the metal terminal bent – it wasnt strong enough.

Using Areldite to glue an attachment on didnt last so long though!

    Cheers!

Thanks for that – i’ll take a look.

First thing i checked was flow wheel. The error was dif with it detached.

Also check sump to psw wasnt blocked.

    Re: Neff D/W (E19 error) S51M66X0GB/B1 (Fd 9507)

UPDATE: I did indeed refer the customer to Neff. She has kindly given me an update for future reference:

Neff engineer replaced Heat Exchanger valve to no avail. (As I said, it was not faulty!)

He then tried a new control module, but couldn’t get it synced with the machine. So, he has a new pre-proggrammed module on order.

Looks like the control module is indeed at fault.

Annoying as I even messaged Bosch/Neff directly. First they said it was heat exchanger or heatpump, then they were talking about the tablet dispenser. None of which were at fault imo. Sigh!
